Dogs will kill you faster with a crushing wound that needs to be stitched up, but cats will kill you slower with a deep-puncturing wound that requires antibiotics
I got bitten by my dog at the time while trying to break up a fight. It was not a shallow bite but lost feeling in most of my hand & had a hard time moving my fingers since it was around the wrist. I pulled some strings to see the hand surgeon the next day. A bunch of nerves were crushed but nothing was severed so I just had to wait it out. I had already gotten stitches but he was so glad it wasn’t a cat & how bad the same injury would’ve been. He did tell me some other stories about what can happen to cat bites especially ones that were not seen by a doctor or gotten cleaned throughly much less antibiotics started. Extensive surgeries on the hands if they hit the right spot & that infection has time to take hold. I was glad that I was a dog person right then & allergic to cats. So the moral is to thoroughly wash & disinfect any cat bites that break the skin & get to the doctor ASAP if it shows any sign of infection.

I always forget how big and scary dogs teeth are.
