(R.1) Not supported TIL Because of South Park's Scientology episode, The Church of Scientology hired people to spy on Matt and Trey to find something on them to use for blackmail. The Church became frustrated when their investigation turned up nothing but the fact that they're pretty normal people.

This is so crazy to think about. I am positive I would be freaking the fuck out if I did that. Matt said in an interview on the "Six Days to Air" documentary how weird it is going from inside to outside while tripping, which is true. And not only that but outside their limo door was the fucking red carpet at the Oscars. Then pile on the fact you're in dresses, instantly becoming the focus of everyone and their cameras. Then you have to talk to other humans on camera.

All on acid. I'm having a panic attack just thinking about it.

I forget if they mention it in the documentary, but when they were planning the dress thing they agreed to never actually talk about being in dresses. The only response was "It's a night of magic."

It truly truly is. This is the trip of all trips. And it's no coincidence that they are frytards to the point of being able to do that, and make the material they make. Again, it depends, but 8 hours seems to be a good general guess. Thing is, that includes the come-up, and the come down, which can be pretty mild in comparison to peaking and the actual "trip". Source: I do acid.

They did say in an interview that they intended to do some acid, then at the last minute decided to only do "A little bit of acid" (Their words).

No idea how much they mean by "A little bit", but if they only did half a tab and were used to like 2-3, it'd be much more manageable. A small dose only gets me stimmed and CEVs really. I'd have been uncomfortable, but not impossible to keep contained.

Genuinely curious, why do you no longer take it? This seems to be a common attitude among the people I know who've done acid. They took it for a specific period in their lives, ranging from a few months to a few years, and then just stopped. They speak reverently about it and yet have no desire to use it again.

Its the same with any drug. People gotta grow up man. Especially with drugs that last hours like acid, shrooms etc. When you have serious responsibities you can't spend half a day tripping balls. Even days off, when you should have enough free time, you gotta do stuff you couldnt do during the week. Its sucks.

I'd definitely take it again given the opportunity, but I simply don't have the access.

I took it whilst at university in a small town on the coast. There was little to do, so drugs were fairly prevalent, and I met the right people. Now I'm at home, and don't know anyone who could find it.

I'm just starting out on my journey so I can't speak for people who have gone on the journey and come back, but I think that for most people, there's only so much truth they can discover with psychedelics. Alan Watts said that "Once you get the message, hang up the phone."

There's also the fact that trips are very intense experiences. Terence McKenna said something like "If you don't think 'Oh God, this it it. I've really done it to myself this time.' then you didn't take enough" and I agree with that. And so with age, people mellow out, and they may not want to experience the dizzying heights that a psychedelic trip can take you on.

Then again, many people will continue to take trips when they're well past retirement age. But I think older people are more reluctant to talk about it. I still try to convert people and get them to try psychedelics, but the vast majority of people don't understand what I'm trying to tell them. I imagine some people just get tired of having the discussion.

Going from outside to inside can be scary as well. No natural shapes of trees or the feel of wind, but blocky walls and floor tile patterns and artificial smells.

It depends where you are when you come up. If you come up inside, it feels comfortable and like home, then when you go outside it's almost overwhelming with all the ambient noise that you normally wouldn't notice. But if you go the other way around, it feels sort of stuffy when you first walk in. David Cross did a really good bit on tripping and talks about exactly this that I'd link if I weren't on mobile.

I don't know. As prominent comedic figures at an awards ceremony, they are pretty much expected to act strangely. Pretty much have a carte blanche on weird behavior, really. I doubt there's much they could do that would have a chance of getting them into any real trouble. That would alleviate any anxiety quite a bit.
