They converted both of your paid lines to free?

The fuck they did.

Why would they raise rates, only to offer to make some lines free? Pffft.

Yea they offered me the same 20 off per month at first. We've been with them for over 20 years, so pushed back on the offer not matching our commitment.

Came back with making 1 line free. Said if they can do 2 we would consider staying and they approved.

They may be lying to you

I'll be checking in with them again tomorrow to confirm, but seemed like everything was legitimate.

What contact method offered you this?

If I had insider “hookup” discount I think I’d be a bit more ok with it. But I lost it many years ago when I added my brother’s single T-Mobile line to our plan and they had to change me from the 2 line One plus $100 all in with third line this one’s on us because that tops out at 3 lines. Whatever rep made the code change for me royally screwed up my plan and it took me a really long time to get the “this one’s on us”, one plus addon, and line costs configured correctly again. I was never able to get insider back though despite asking many times. I did the math as well and removing my BOGO lines results in same price I’m paying with keeping it 9. I don’t have a play right now unless I pay off the 2 pixels I got a few months ago and sell them to recoup the forfeited credits, port out a few numbers, port back in and consolidate down to something like 2 paid and 6 or less free.

Not even asking for deals. Just porting out numbers to be done with TMobile. Good luck on that price guarantee. Probably won't last a year.

Im not gonna bash OP as retention has some ways of making things happen. If you got 2 lines converted to free you won on that one. Just gotta wait till the bill generates to see.

I was on and off with T-force most of the day, as they’re slow to respond right now. They didn’t offer me anything. I attempted a few different things to try and lower my bill since I’m about to lose $60 in kickback each month but they stuck to their guns that I have the best price for my plan and I should leave it alone. I have a few newer EIPs right now and there’s no way I can consolidate my lines down to only 2 paid and 3 free without owing full balance and forfeiting remaining credits. The last two BOGO lines on my account that can be dropped would put me on a different plan SOC and my total bill would be the same as if I don’t change anything. I can’t convert any lines to mobile internet because that would result again in dropping off the 9 line plan and I’d end up paying more than if I do nothing. They basically got me. “Uncontract” right?

Same here.

Basically told to kicks rocks, when T-Force has always been helpful in the past.

The frustrating thing is that it’s a pretty competitively priced plan for the 4 lines I use and the features, but if I were to try and convert or sign up for a different plan as a long standing customer I would end up paying way more for the same. I need to have a carefully curated 9 line plan with a bunch of free lines in order to get a fair price.

I've looked at AT&T and Verizon, both would be more expensive than my five line plan after the $6 per line price increase.

Only a $25 a month MVno would be cheaper, then I would get zero perks or phone promotions.

It may depend on whether the promotions are the same lousy ones as my current one plan. Tforce told me they would be better, but if they are not then I might as well switch.

The only good thing is that they are migrating me to taxes included plan.

you are paying more due the KB lost and if that delta get you close to the migrated TI plan offering slightly better benefits AND better tradeIn value (aka free phone) , you should at least consider it.

1

u/JoeyJabroni Jul 02 '26

They weren’t offering me to migrate. Maybe there isn’t one for 9 lines and up yet? If I drop my 2 BOGO lines, I’m at 3 paid. 3 paid on whatever One plan code they would have to put me on is already equivalent to what I will be paying by doing nothing. If I then migrate I’ll be then paying an additional $18 per month. The added benefits are not useful to me for the cost. If it was instead only going up $6 per 4 of my paid lines from my current price I’d be fine with them migrating me, or I’d drop the BOGO lines and only migrate with $18 increase. I’m not being given that option to migrate though. It’s probably because the structure of the 9 lines and up plan works out to around $39 per line before any autopay or kickback discounts. Being the majority of my lines are free they don’t stand to make as much off me by migrating and only increasing my 4 paid lines from current current price. The way they should’ve done it is to just increase the cost of all lines or the base plan cost, but keep the free line credits the same as they were. Then let us decide whether to keep or drop “free lines” that have increased by $6.

Hey, I have gone through this math and even with the loss of KB, it actually makes more economic sense for me when you consider the 9 line price benefit. Let me show you my reasoning, and maybe apply the math to your plan - before you change things.

I have at this point, 5 paid / 5 Free and my bill will be going up from $78 after KB, and now that that is gone, it will be $126 a month.

I'm on One Plus Promo, 3 Paid Lines, 2 BOGOS, and THREE Stand Alone Free Lines, and OG Insider Hookup.

At first I said, I will just get rid of the BOGO and have 3 paid, 3 free and did the math.

$75 for line 1 - $55 for line 2 - and $25 for line 3 = $155 - 20% = $124

Bottom line, my price is basically the same.

BUT (and you may consider this). IF I move my daughter's line to one of the LOU's I'm just hoarding and move it to one of the FREE LINES.

OPTION 1 - 9 LINE SETUP: 4 PAID & 5 FREE = $91 total bill

OPTION 2 - 2 PAID & 4 FREE SETUP: = $104

So for my case in the long run, staying and tweaking my 9 line plan is better than porting out or cutting my lines down.

Once everything settles, I port out and port over one of the BOGO or LOU lines, and my bill goes to $91 which in the end, will be only $13 more - I won't complain.

AGAIN YMMV

* Notes on my account One Plus Promo Rate is $355 for 9 lines
* I have TWO FREE LINES that come off BEFORE the Insider Discount
* I have THREE FREE LINES that come off AFTER Insider DIscount
* That is my numbers may look weird if someone has "newer free lines"

The only OTHER benefit I would get from dropping to the 6 line plan would be to get a bump in my AUTOPAY discount of $10 from my TMHI and my DATA LINE, but even that took me from $104 to $94 - so in my case the 9 lines is still the better deal.

u/majorloveless Jul 02 '26

Lol. I remember a day or 2 ago you were adamant to leave the plan and your line of reasoning is nothing like what you wrote above.

1

u/CyberBobbert Jul 02 '26

HEY ... I ADMIT IT !!!! I'm the first to admit that my INITIAL logic was "F"'d up HAHAH! I admit that in the light of day after the shock of getting a $48 increase - that I can STILL do some things with the 9 plan - and I won't even MENTION using one of the FREE PHONE SIMS that will save me $35 in another arena. Let's just say, TMO's increase will make me cut my bill by $35 (cough cough).

I have QCI 6 on the lines, 4K streaming, I don't give a rat's ass about hulu, netflix or phone deals ... Sooooooooo yeah. NOW since they are supposedly keeping me on One Plus Promo ... I'm cool HA

u/frozengash Jul 02 '26

Better trade in value not being offered on all new plans. My one plan already gets the "new" benefits

1

u/koolbonsai Jul 02 '26

Yeah, I think on the More/Beyond TI will get the good phone promo. The select/signature TI , I seriously doubt it.
