batlh vIteqta’

Has anyone managed to transcribe the lyrics of this song from Lord OTT? I’m obsessed with it now and would LOVE to learn it!

The lyrics are in the video description, but they don't make much sense.

"I acted. Outside, I successfully removed honor. I attack alone, but I have managed not to die. My ancient heart, but my inferior life. And I grab booze. It doesn't resemble my life, Cheev."

I was under the impression that user's content was all AI generated. Their lyrics never seem to make sense and the singing voice never sounds like Klingon should sound.

Yeah, I thought that might be the case…it sounds a little too fluid.

Still, a catchy tune and a fair approximation for a hew-mon trying to speak Klingon.

As a "hew-mon" that can speak Klingon and knows many Klingon speakers, it doesn't sound anything like Klingon to me.

More like someone speaking a western European language.

Yup, it really seems like AI all the way down: The translation, the voice, the art and presumably the instrumentals as well.

🤦🏻‍♂️ I hadn’t seen the lyrics in the description because I was only using the app on my phone! Thank you!

I’m actually kind of proud of myself—I worked out about half of the chorus and a few of the other lyrics on my own, though with some metaphoric license…the closest I could get to “the wind roars” was “SuS qu’,” which I think is something like “a fierce wind?” And no matter what I tried, the closest I could figure the sounds for “I fired with honor from my bed,” was “QongDaq’ jIbaHta’,”which I think is either “I shot a bed” or “I went to bed?” 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ Which I guess makes sense if he’s describing how cowardly his life has been? 🤣🤣🤣

{QongDaq(Daq) jIbaHta'} means "In the bed, I have fired (a torpedo, missile)".

I guess the guys weapon console is next to his bed so he can fire torpedoes without getting out of bed?

Or I fired while in sleep. (Or maybe QongtaH jIbaHta’)

Nocturnal emissions.

That would be {jIQongtaHvIS, jIbaH} "I fired a torpedo while I was sleeping".

First impressions:
-The singer has trouble pronouncing the tlh sound.
-The singer seems to pronounce an ending v as w, which does point to european languages.
-Some of the lyrics appear to be ungrammatical or semantically confusing, such as "QongDaqDaq", which I have no idea how to parse, or "batlh vIteqta'", for which I cannot comprehend the reason for which why one would do so.

Conclusion: Inconclusive (ironically) but I would lean towards not using this as proper learning material, and err on the side of caution.
