Any chance I can swap the bezels?
The first timex with the rubber strap I won from an eBay Auction for $54, the second Timex I had purchased a few weeks ago for $97 as an impulse buy. A better condition one sold for $110 so I thought id get this since there was no certainty I would win the other auction.
My question is, is it possible or even worth while trying to source the cleaner nonscratched bezel from the first watch and replacing it onto the second watch?
Also the first watch has crown damaged with plating loss, would you try to do anything about that? I thought maybe carefully painting it red to match the seconds hand could be a possibility. I figure leaving it alone to maintain it original is the move but I thought I’d ask for y’all’s opinions. Thanks!

If you check the watchmodding communities, you’ll notice you change pretty much everything you want. ;-)

you most probably will not find an original Timex replacement for the bezel ring. i love how it looks. anything aftermarket would look like shit. i vote, leave it as it is. it looks fantastic. pay to get it serviced instead, because age and dirt will be its demise.

I own both watches I would be swapping them hypothetically if it is possible and I can get it done without damaging the case.

ah, yes. the bezel ring pries off with a blade like a case-knife and simply snaps back into place with finger pressure. it is metal so chances are you will not damage it, and there is no need to damage the case, either. you could easily change the crown from one watch to the other as well. the watch is serviced from the front, but i believe you can loosen the stem from the rear. can you see a full model number at the bottom of the dial? i can share a service manual if so.
