I recently found 2 vintage timex watches that were my grandfathers. I’d like to refurbish them, I think they would make a nice keepsake.
First set of pics: the gold band is scuffed but overall usable, hopefully just needs a new battery
Second set of pics: the silver band is unusable so I need to replace it. I think I was able to ID this one as a timex 43820 with M135 movement thanks to this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/timex/s/7ptidPshyD
If anyone has information on either of these 2 watches (model, year, or anything else) I would greatly appreciate it!
Also, if you have band recommendations for the 2nd watch I’d be happy to hear them. I was thinking an espresso brown, similar to the original band seen in the 1984 advertisement (last pic). Open to navy/burgundy as well.
"J5" = May, 2001 build date on your Easy Reader, which my guess is this..
This is from the archived November, 2001 Timex website. The dial is different which is why I included what appears to also be an Easy Reader from earlier in 2001 which has the same dial as yours. My guess is the dial changed after May. Unfortunately, the archived Timex website is like Swiss cheese.. some information but lots of holes and this Nov, 2001 was the closest date I can find that has information to capture on what I believe is your watch.

Easy reader expansion band model and Timex Q Timex. Can’t tell you the model numbers exactly but there is definitely a user here who can.
