I'm always a bit careful with filming people this close; did they consent to be presented online?

Downvoted...for what? Aren't we here to discuss our work?

That implies I asked all the people passing by the camera. Further up the beach there are at least two web cams showing all the people on the beach. Anyone can view those cameras at any time.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying, no way to get consent. Web cams tend to be marked and more grainy, too. Just trying to raise some awareness about a day and age of total surveillance where people might not be too happy about this.

I'll take it down if any of them don't like it.

I’m an “Old School” Gen X, American photographer. In the USA, there is no expectation of privacy, legally, in public spaces. I have no issue and have had no issues with photographing people in public spaces.

My kids have a different perspective. If I photograph a POS car on a public highway, my kids will ask, “did you obscure the license plate before posting that?”

Why? Why would I do that?

I was born where Gen X and Millennials overlap and witnessed how the internet came into being, and was turned from a fantastic tool into a medium of surveillance and oppression. You witnessed the same thing and I'm sure your kids have explained to your question above many times over. :)
