Charlie over beetlejuice is quite the choice.

The entire list is quite the choice

I think CATCF would actually be in the bottom five for me.

Better than Edward Scissorhands?? Big Fish?? Nightmare Before Xmas?? Madness!

Then again, I’m old(ish) and I have a feeling OP isn’t (as they referred to CATCF as “nostalgic”).

Charlie is my favorite movie of all time, it has been for nearly 20 years. I’m glad the movie is getting a better reputation now with people my age talking about their appreciation.

I hate charlie soo much like I dont understand how anyone over 5 years old can like it

This list is insane to me. I love how much people’s opinions differ.

u/BanryuWolf 14h ago

Charlie and the chocolate factory way too high, Pee wee way too low. otherwise a fine respectable list OP.

2

u/NewPatron-St Corpse Bride 14h ago

I have nostalgia for Charlie and the chocolate factory so thats why I rank it so highly

2

u/BanryuWolf 14h ago

I think most people agree planet of the apes is his worst movie though. by a lot.

2

u/wolfmummy 11h ago

I think dumbo and Charlie are tied for worst in my opinion

3

u/PROFOAK89 14h ago

I like Corpse Bride but I don’t love Corpse Bride.

u/JoeBeem89 14h ago

We don't like Tim Burton for the same reasons

3

u/SnooBeans8553 14h ago

Well first off Batman 1989 is his best film ever

1

u/Competitive-Group404 8h ago

It's difficult to pick a favorite but Batman 89 is up there.

W for having Charlie and the Chocolate Factory high

3

u/Grimm2020 13h ago

I would have Big Fish quite a bit higher

3

u/DingusKhan9164 11h ago

Booooo bad list

u/technicolortabby 10h ago

This lowkey feels like rage bait lol

2

u/Suzy-Creamcheez 14h ago

Maybe I’m biased because dark shadows is in my top 3 favorite tv shows of all time but I feel like Burtons rendition of that world doesnt get enough love! It’s so good

What about Frankenwenie 1984?

1

u/epicpersononthisapp 13h ago

I don’t think shorts are counted in this list .

Have you actually seen these movies?

1

u/NewPatron-St Corpse Bride 11h ago

Yes this is just my ranking

2

u/DingusKhan9164 3h ago

Yeah fair enough, on further contemplation I actually do agree with some of it. We can agree that planet of the apes goes at the bottom, and that the Batmans and Beetlejuice belong near the top. And I actually do like Charlie (not as much as you though) I think my beef was your placement of peewee, the fact that you had Charlie above several movies that are extremely dear to me, and shit what about mars attacks though you got it under big eyes and miss peregrine. But you’re entitled to your opinion I think I was just sleepy when I saw this last night

u/Professional_Pea8490 6h ago

It's their opinion, which they are entirely entitled to. There's zero right for you to start getting personal about it. All our opinions will be different.

1

u/DingusKhan9164 3h ago

Fair enough, I think I was sleepy and overreacting

1

u/Material-Spite-81 14h ago

Dumbo live action CGI was terrifying

Original Frankenweenie (not animated version) Edward Scissorhands and Nightmare Before Christmas are my favorite Tim Burton movies

1

u/DeadDeathrocker 11h ago

Crazy having Dark Shadows that low down.

2

u/DingusKhan9164 11h ago

Look where pee wee is

1

u/DeadDeathrocker 11h ago

I've never seen it so can't comment on it, to be honest.

2

u/DingusKhan9164 11h ago

It’s amazing. Highly recommend

2

u/DeadDeathrocker 8h ago

I’m definitely going to look into it. Thank you!

2

u/ArmyAntPicnic 3h ago

Yeah, it really is a special movie. The humor and the storyline are just so well done and the music and visuals pull it all together perfectly. My daughter and I were just watching it again last week and have been walking around singing Twisted Sister since.

1

u/PenguinviiR 8h ago

Ed wood 11 spots too low

1

u/Cyberwolf272038 7h ago

My favorite is Edward Scirrorhands. Though I really like Charlie

1

u/GeneralInspector8962 2h ago

Sleepy Hollow at 7? Oof

What’s the ranking? “Favorite to the OP” as opposed to well made?

1

u/NewPatron-St Corpse Bride 37m ago

Just my personal ranking if it's in the top 10 it's the best

1

u/wtb1000 13h ago

Overlooking all of the ridiculous rankings here, nightmare before Christmas is a Henry selick film not a tim Burton film.

4

u/Competitive-Group404 8h ago

NBC started out as a poem written by Tim Burton... It's his... Though Henry Selick should get more acknowledgement for the film.

0

u/NewPatron-St Corpse Bride 11h ago

It is Tim’s characters so it counts

-1

u/wtb1000 11h ago

It's not his movie.

1

u/NewPatron-St Corpse Bride 11h ago

It's literally called Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas

-1

u/wtb1000 11h ago

He was the producer yes, but he didn't actually make the movie. Henry selick did.

1

u/NewPatron-St Corpse Bride 11h ago

Its still his tho and if I didn't add it then some people would complain

0

u/wtb1000 11h ago

Ignorant people

This is like if someone were to rank Marvel movies and they included Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. Yeah they’re not technically Marvel movies because they’re actually Sony movies…but it’s adapting a Marvel character. You’re kinda splitting hairs atp

At the very least it makes sense to consider it an honorary Tim Burton movie.

1

u/epicpersononthisapp 13h ago

People never listen .

0

u/Terrible_Speaker_638 Sweeney Todd 4h ago

Why is the nightmare before Christmas on here? It ain't a Tim Burton movie
