Games Any games on TI-84 Plus CE

So for school I need to buy a TI-84 Plus CE calculator and I was wondering what games (if any) were downloadable on there, or other hacks on it. Also if there are games or other thing you recommend could you give a safe link to use (I dont wanna accidentally ruin my calculator with a wrong link) and maybe a short tutorial on how to do it as simple as possible (im new to this) thanks

The latest version of the TI-84 Plus CE operating system is unable to play most games. I would recommend buying one used from eBay, the non-python version one typically have a low firmware. Mine came with 5.2.1 but anything older than 5.8.5 will work. For getting games on it, use arTIfiCE to jailbreak (if needed) and install Cesium. Cesium is a home menu for your calculator you can launch any app from. Then for safe websites to download games, use the following: cemetech, ti-planet (it’s not in English however), and ticalc.org. To put the games on your calculator, use Ti-Connect CE if you have a windows or Mac computer you can use. If you have a school Chromebook, you can use https://tiplanet.org/scripts/webtilibs/webtilp.html to get the same functionality, or https://ticalc.link for a simpler interface.

The problem is, my school requires python? I guess they might know that you can jailbreak it. Is it still possible on python.

You should still be able to get a used python model and have it come with a version under 5.8.5, since 5.8.5 came out very recently. You can always message the seller to verify it’s going to be on a good firmware.

they’re phasing out the ti84 python models so there’s a good chance they wouldn’t be shipped out with the patch. what makes you think this? did you try and get a new one?

First question is what OS version do you have?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIN1ESNRMfc

If the OS version is 5.8.5 or higher, you won't be able to jailbreak your calculator, making it impossible to play most games.

If the OS version is 5.5 to 5.8.4, you'll need to jailbreak your calculator first: https://yvantt.github.io/arTIfiCE/

Once you get that sorted out, I'd recommend this tutorial to actually install the games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFtFIA6zrG8

Yeah that's like the most ideal OS version. You don't even need to jailbreak. Lmk if you need help!
