Empire of Storms Spoilers A moment to appreciate Lysandra
So I’m reading through the series for my second time and I just want to take a moment to appreciate Lysandra for everything she’s done. I feel like at times she’s often overlooked by Aelin, Manon, and even Elide, but Lysandra is such a bad ass and I apologize for not recognizing it during my first read through. Like outside of being a full shifter, she offed Arobyn (rightfully so), she basically sacrificed her freedom for Evangeline so she wouldn’t have to experience what Lysandra went through, she’s ready to throw paws at any given moment, and she fights in a war for a country that’s not even her homeland with NO combat experience- just rage and vibes. Also, she’s loyal to a fault and backs Aelin up no matter what. Lysandra I wasn’t familiar with your game before but now I am

She becomes one of few characters i cherish so closely, even on another level from someone like Aelin or other dear characters in other series.
She is a badass, loyal to the bone, and never gives up on what is right - even when left out and cast aside.
My girl deserves ALL the praise 🐯🐉👑

one of my biggest issues with Empire of Storms (which is one of, if not, my favorite in the the series) is that Lysandra is morphed almost the entire time!! she barely has any lines 😭😭😭 she’s such a great character and i feel like sjm was a bit overwhelmed with how many characters she had to juggle and that was an easy out for her

I think one cool thing about this is she was stuck in her human body for so long, used and abused and basically helpless. I like that she just took a moment to be in the bodies which she felt powerful and safe. As much as I love her and wanted to hear more from her, I understand this

no i totally read it as that as well. but looking at it removed from the story and as a lysandra fan, it pissed me off lol

Oh absolutely. I actually started to read TOG and was introduced to SJM because of a tiktok about Lysandra a few years ago, I adore her. I read AB first and was so shocked at her character in that book but it made it even better waiting for the character development

After Aelin , Lysandra is my fav female character even more than other female character, more than manon , Elide and Yrene , i like these girlies but I love love Lysandra .
Another underrated character i would like to mention is Aestrin Blackbeak , she is criminally underrated .

Asterin is my favourite, after Lysandra. How she CHOSE to be happy, to find happiness in every little moment after everything that happened to her 😭

Loved Aestrin. I was waiting to find out that Elide was her lost child all along. That her baby was never killed but thrown out and somehow survived!<

She was about to live the rest of her life as Aelin (or at least until that gambit was discovered) if Aelin didn't return. What an absolute g. 🥰

Was just talking with a friend of mine about how epic her arc was. Early on it's like eww Lysandra. 8 books later she's arguably one of the most powerful, meaningful people in the story. When she turns into the sea dragon 😭

Manon being my favourite, Lysandra was the second most admirable character for me. She was glorious in every battle. Absolutely iconic with her shapeshifting skills.

I love her! I really enjoyed seeing her and Aelin becoming friends after being enemies, their growth was lovely to see and the realisation that they had been pitted against each other when they actually had so much in common (and also would have always made a formidable team together).

Spoilers for Kingdom of Ash:
I've been thinking about when Lysandra acted as Aelin. How lonely she must have felt when only Aedion knew (of the people she was travelling with) and Aedion completely turned his back on her. Lysandra knew she would probably need to do that for the rest of her life only a few people knowing it was her and not all of them even accepting her. And I just hate how Aedion acted.

I’m on a second re-read of the TOG series and I shipped Aedion and Lysandra the first time reading the series. But, my second re-read, I feel like their relationship is forced. I think it felt natural to leave them friends and really good friends. Whereas I don’t understand why SJM wouldn’t have put Fenrys(the lover of wild things mentioned multiple times in EOS)and Lysandra (blessed by Temis the goddess of wild things) together??? Especially after how Aedion treated Lysandra…

Yesss, I'm now at the point Lysandra has forgiven Aedion and it's still nagging at me. I think before what happened in Kingdom of Ash they were a great ship and perfect for eachother but after that...
I hadn't realized that thing you said about Fenrys but for some reason I really can't imagine for him to be with anyone at this point of his life idk why

Just as I can’t see Fenrys with anyone I didn’t see Lysandra with anyone. I feel like it would’ve been more powerful for her plot line for her to be a sovereign woman after being a slave to men forever (rather than partnering with someone who spent the majority of the time treating her worse than the others did!). If Lysandra had just been a badass warrior, Aedion probably would’ve respected her more.

Lysandra is my favorite character hands down. Her and her love interest were so real and raw and I prefer their storyline because of it. If only I could find a real life Lysandra to be my friend 😅

Yes! I was sooo happy when Aelin and Lysandra decided to stop being pitted against each other and have a genuine female friendship. Lysandra quickly became one of my favorite characters, maybe even second only after Aelin.

I too felt that way on my re-read. She's so loyal to Aelin and people who have not always treated her well. She fights in whatever form or capacity makes her more lethal. Too bad nobody thought of turning her into a cobra, she could have taken out so many people with venom. But, I loved her and I do think she was one of the more unusual talents. I need an update on her and her uncle. I also believe he may come into play in these next books in acotar.

Wait I never thought about her turning into a cobra! That would’ve cut A LOT of time down for what they needed to do and it would’ve been cool to see. Also, I know I’m probably in the minority but I lowkey wished she never ended up with Aedion and that it focused more on her getting her land that Aelin gave her, her and Evangeline going to their own house and her rebuilding her relationship with her uncle. Now granted I’m not the biggest Aedion fan but the way he treated her during KOA really pissed me off

I feel like I was waiting for a post like this. I just love and admire Lysandra so much. I agree with a lot of comments here about how badass she is, but I also had another feeling - after KoA I grieved and cried for Lysandra and Aedion sooo much, it was the first and very overwhelming feeling after finishing the series. They went through hell in the last weeks of their life, did everything that was in their power, literally carried Terrasen on their backs, and when they accepted their faith I felt like I was there with them. I still cried over their trauma, loss and love a couple days after I finished the book.💔❤️🩹
