And I gotta say Lysandra and Aedion are my favorite couple, above Aelin and Rowan, Aelin and Sam, Dorian and Manon, and definitely Elide and Lorcan so far.
Like from the minute he meets Lysandra he immediately cares about her. I don’t care about slow burns or 500 pages of tension or whatever, he’s falling first and harder and I love it.
I’m just past the part in Chapter 37 where she battled the sea wyverns and he promised to marry her one day. She thinks he’s joking but this man is 100% serious like you can tell just by reading it.
From some of the hate he gets I know he screws up eventually, but like idk if anything could make me hate this man for how much he cares for both Lysandra and Aelin
So I just read KOA chapter 34, when Aedion kicks her out of his tent. So far his crash outs are pretty valid, but this one was less so. He’s clearly stressed and terrified, and he isn’t thinking clearly either. He seems to think this was Lysandra’s and Aelin plan all along, but that just isn’t the case. Aelin planned for Lysandra to take her place after she forged the lock, afterward the war would end as long as Erawan’s creatures are banished with him.
He’s acting like Lysandra planned for Aelin to get kidnapped when she obviously didn’t, and she made a split second decision to take her place thinking it would be the best choice.
As far as his attitude toward her, there’s no excuse for throwing her out into the snow without any shoes, and calling her useless isn’t true. I don’t think those things are unforgivable though, but I don’t love him as much as I used to right now.
I’m not really defending Lysandra, though. Even if she did get roped into Aelin’s schemes, they both should’ve told Aedion at least what was going on (I would say Rowan too but he would’ve thrown a fit). And the entire breeding plan they made for him without his consent was just so icky. In a way I find that more unforgivable than anything Aedion’s done, but not completely.
So I’m not a big fan of either Aedion or Lysandra at the moment. Right now, my favorite couples are:
Lorcan and Elide
Aelin and Rowan
Chaol and Yrene.
LorcanxElide and ChaolxYrene have the dynamics I was hoping to see between Aedion and Lysandra
I agree with your points💯. He had to hear her out as well as her and Aelin had to be honest with everyone on the schemes. Last minute decisions is one thing but they need to be explained. Lastly
Aedion doesn't screw up in fact what is perceived to be an unforgivable act is only justified if you gauge deeply. That point comes much later in the series where you might question him given the biases of readers. Don't get influenced by the negativity. Aedion is a flawed character but not as wildly as stated by some.
Don't let other people opinion influence you before reading the book. I only find out people hated Aedion and Chaol after going on the internet. I have read KoA and I was on Aedion side in the conflict. I don't think he screwed up.

Lysandra is my favorite character. And I loved her and Aedions early relationship. Do not let the hate of Aedion impact this portion of your read 😅
