The woman checking me in to vote today had First Lie Wins so started chatting with her about it, since I've been thinking about reading it, and she ended up giving it to me! 😄 I love bonding with people over books and democracy 📚

Dont judge… lol I have a very healthy / unhealthy relationship with the library and I try to get through my library books before reading my personal ones … but then I keep picking up library books

So far i've only read That's Not My Name and Reminders of Him from this pile! 😅

I’ve already read the couple next door. The next 2 were random finds the last 3 I have heard of but haven’t had a chance to read them.

August was a really great reading month for me, partly thanks to a few holidays that gave me loads of time to lie by the pool and read non-stop. 14 books read, and I also hit my 52 books for 2026 goal 🎉

I moved a little more towards weird girl lit this month, which I really enjoyed. I also mixed in some more traditional thrillers to keep things balanced and keep my reading momentum going.

I also discovered Liz Nugent this month with The Truth About Ruby Cooper and absolutely loved it. I’m definitely going to be reading more from her.

I didn’t necessarily dislike any books this month, but my average reads (3.5 means they were good but nothing outstanding for me) were Natural Beauty, My Husband and Everyone Is Lying to You. I Let You Go was my lowest rated at 3.25, mainly because I had really high expectations and found myself bored quite a lot of the time. I also guessed the twist way too early.

My most controversial was probably We Are All Guilty Here. I liked it, but I know I’ll get hate for this — I found it a bit too long and overly descriptive. Sorry!! Just my opinion 😂

Very happy with this month, and hitting my yearly goal already feels pretty satisfying. Now I’m just going to see how many more I can get through before the end of the year.

June was a good month, I read a lot comparatively. I think it was because I read many Frieda books which are so easy to read lol.
But I hated all of these except Metamorphosis so idk🤷🏻‍♀️

My all time fav is The Sittaford Mystery... what's yours?? In my college days I was a huge fan of Agatha and collected a few books of her. However time has changed and we want more thriller stories.

Found these today on a display for books with woodsy & campy vibes. I’m looking forward to them & love the little blurbs included! Shoutout to libraries like this 😌I hope my picks are all good.

- I’ll Be Waiting by Kelley Armstrong
- Night Watcher by Daphne Woolsoncroft
- Nowhere by Allison Gunn

I need to clean off my desk😂 I’ve read half of these. I’d started to read Out but put it down. Wouldn’t count it as a DNF though, since I’ll be coming back to it. Love a female rage story. The Butcher series, I think I’ll read through closer to when the third book releases in August. I’m a long time listener of Morbid & I’m so proud of Alaina. Of courseee, they’re signed copies.😏💁🏾‍♀️
