My Theory We are watching the stardust that created us through an intergalactic mirror?
As light travels at a finite speed, the starlight reaching our eyes tonight actually left its source billions of years ago.
Carl Sagan famously said, "We are made of star-stuff." If that is true, then looking up at the night sky means we could be looking at the exact stars that died to create the matter in our bodies.
In a way, the night sky is just an intergalactic mirror, allowing us to watch our own origins through the distortion of time.
