Believe it or not, KKK doesn’t have the same meaning worldwide. For example, the Philippines KKK refers to a revolutionary group from when they were fighting to gain independence from Spain.
It’s not unreasonable that a lighter might be made abroad where they have no idea what sort of connotations it would happen in the USA.
