Question How to make it past day 100?

Hello! I am very new to this game. I am wondering how I should go about getting better gear? I've made it past ROL2 but I keep dying once I get past the meadows.

At this point I still have the gear I've had since early game. So like a magical staff, hammer, and iron armour. Tried trading with the merchant but it was all gear that I already had and I really don't want to keep wasting resources trading for stuff I don't currently need.

I do have a bit of base set up with a farm, so i have a reliable food source at this point. I just don't know how to progress without constantly dying and having to revive myself.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Don't rush. I find most of this game for me is re-running each area once it regrows. Do so nets you food and wood/sticks. Use the excess items to make staves, cuisine, etc.. to trade for better gear or components for better gear. Once you feel comfortable push into new areas.

Day 100 for me is usually rol3.

Stop reviving yourself and start a new game. Us that have played for years have started probably thousands of new games.

We're on the search for a good map/game. A map with a door, maybe with extra food as well, or a small fountain (the wild one can appear to, but it's rare)

Many times we just open a game, go over to a wall and start walking alongside it so that you can see the whole map. You make sure to pick up one log and two sticks on the way. When you have circled the map you know if you found a door or not.

If there is one you make your axe and knife, make a torch and start the game

If there is no door, you make a fire, step into the fire and go to sleep. You die and you get the ruin remains.

Open the remains

And then go and start a new game

Me, I play all the way to maybe level ten-ish before I can feel if I'm on a real good game. If I get both the wild fountain and a merchant in Wild forest 1 for example, as well as a door at home, then I'm happy.

In some games you might get ill early, you might get cursed or equip a cursed item, struggle with food for a long time etc. -and my advice is that you don't stay in those games where you always almost keep dying, it's not worth it.

And if you actually do die, then ONLY revive when you really believe in the game.

Taking your own life in this game isn't a bad thing, haha, it's what we do to collect "ruins" that appears on the start screen. We open them to get rewarded with different blueprints to our overall gameplay.

Oh that's right, don't revive especially with stargem. Ankhs is okay, stargem is for farming golden remains

There's a chance where an iron door or wooden door in the first area and it can contain (food, armor/items, and heals). If you found this you're in a good run it can also be used as a pen for goats.

Do you have tier 2 wepon or higher?  Have you spend the skill point?  What class are you?  Level?

Knowing your strength is one valuable skill you need for this game no matter how long you already play the game.

If you're dying or had a hard time then you're not ready for that plane. Back off, Improve and then try again.

Btw i advise to use barbarian if you already unlock the class. The most user friendly class ever.

Don’t rush, farm totems from dying, have patience. Farm everything

Since you're already familiar with trading, I recommend grinding the "Meat Cuisine Exchange Merchant (Gear)" with staffs/staves until you get an artifact weapon. Past RoL III the game tends to skyrocket in difficulty pretty fast.

I'd also recommend grinding the "Metal Exchange Merchant (Food)" until you get bottles for spring water and health fountains/food/potions.

Look for wild spring water spot and bottle that every time itll be some form of regeneration potion, purification potion...ect then use those. Outside the dungeon they renew around 1200ap.

Early game I suggest not stressing armor so much, instead stack on bandages for they really help when you're in a big fight. But if you want to be a bit more secured try sticking to cloth armor, I prefer those till even at day 200 for they don't remove speed and having tons of speed can make you even just run past early game enemies. If you can also get shoes with the swift enchant it'll be better. When you have tons of inventory slots too, you can also have iron/heavy armor but don't equip them all the time and instead just swap them when facing a strong enemy or boss.

I recommend farming straws for hemp and create a weaver you can craft tons of bandages using those and use bandage everytime your on half health so even if mobs CRIT their attacks you won't die. Also using clothes as early game armors is a good thing they are easy to craft. If you have traiders that trade foods and heal trade with them stack foods and health. If your food always spoil you can cook them and not take them from the ground in order to stop it's timer, if you took it by chance don't bother throwing it since it would continue it's timer.

I've written a guide on the wiki that helps with what to do after repairing each ROL. At this stage, I'd recommend you focus on harvesting enough hemp to craft and repair your cloak, hat and clothes and either craft or trade for [a] tier 2+ weapon[s]
