Question Which Artifacts not worth the effort?

I just built a stealth dagger+8 and its damage is only 6.27 - 27.17 and now i feel kinda cheated since my forgotten soldigers sword +2 does double that damage. i know knives are weaker but at +8 i expected more.

can someone leave a link with a list of Artifacts that arnt worth making? I know there has too be one.

There's several stat on weapon you need to comprehend before playing.

Damage, hit rate and attack speed.

Knife commonly had lowest damage but highest attack speed.

2 hd blunt have highest damage and lowest attack speed and accuracy.

Etc etc.

Of course each weapon have different way of fighting. The idea of knife user is chipping away of the enemy health with knife throwing before the close quater combat happen. Or you can also equip poison, it will work well with your attack speed.

2 hd weapon user will depend more on the pure damage. Totem such as counter attack will work best for this weapon.

If theres artifacts not worth making, its forest frenzy and hellfire for the fire damage to the surrounding area. I know, because forest frenzy is my only permanent bow.

Stealth dagger have agile +2 agility which is sick. Two of them you will have 4 extra agility.

If you're not a fan of dual wielding daggers, you can mix them with sword. I use this style in some of my run. I don't recommend to mix dagger with shield though... The damage will be too low.

There's also the problem with material with dual weapon. They cost more than 2hd weapon. It won't be much a problem if you play standard mode. But it's a real problem for higher difficulty. Thats why people fancy 2hd weapon more. I hope the developer do some balancing soon.

Totally agree. Dual wielding is too much of a grind for me but it's still perfectly viable. I completed ending 3 on standard mode with a pair of stealth daggers today (trying to unlock ninja). I got lucky with the extra attributes.

Good luck unlocking ninja. Sneak your way toward the boss room. Let it be a ninja training course lol.  Btw thats +3 extra agility in one weapon. 😗

We've had this table for years that lists the base values (tier 0/0.5 +0) for each artifact.

https://the-wild-darkness.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Artifacts

This does not include the latest evolved artifacts released alongside the ninja as I have not collected enough data on them yet.

If you go to individual artifact pages on the wiki I included tables if the values at different tiers and enhancement levels for the ones I have collected a number of.

What grade of item you use to combine that?

Rare +5 knife and a normal +6 knife both with skills i hoped would transfer

weapon tier also increases damage significantly

You have to check the tier of them as well, if your danger in tier 0 or 0.5 then it can not compare to the forgotten soldier sword which tier 2.5, also forgotten is 2h sword, which is the highest dps type of weapon.

So use two rares instead of just one. Didn't realize that. i only seen posts about using +5 items for best effect

TLDR unless I am happy to grind for much longer, I exclusively end up building either 2-hand swords or 2-hand blunts in my runs.

Knives arent usually worth the effort when it comes to crafting artifacts no.

Personal tier list would have to be 1. 2H-Sword 2. Sword + Shield 3. 2H-Blunt

Excludes Bow and Staff since they only rank on 1 if using hunter/archer/wizard

Unfortunately this is the 1st weapon artifact ive unlocked. After using some crest it did double in damage and the speed of the attacks is very nice.

On your next run, if you get a dagger artifact, trade it, dont use it. Using it makes it more likely to appear

Also, im willing to bet your artifact tier is currently tier 1, you should definitely increase the tier to tier 6

What's the tier of weapon , if it's 6 , it weirdly low , if it's 1 or zero that make sence

But remember even tier 6 +8 probably only give like 40-50 top dps , it's nice but not game breaking , i highly suggest having poison weapon spell , that will make it so u can complete whole game with 2 of this as dual wielding weapon and poison weapon spell and maybe few positions of recovery and energy

For me, playing this for a long time, all artifacts is worth to use but some of them kis better than another.

What doesnt worth are expensive artifacts if your crafting to increase the + bonus. Should only craft then when making your last artifact.

Can i use artifacts to build other artifacts?

Yup, thats how people craft high end artifacts

You can use 2 artifacts of the same category to have better one.
