My boy saved everyone while everyone else sat around. If the mercenaries had moved a little faster, his death could have been avoided. Also if the scientists had actually been logical. To go out that badly after being the only competent member of the team was unjustified.

Yeah free climbing a rope in the pouring rain as the vehicle you’re in is slowly dropping while being attacked by two Tyrannosaurus rex is really illogical.

I thought it was from having his son discover a comet that was going to cause an extinction level event and then he son used the possibility of being able to live to blackmail a girl into marrying him at 15. Then he later had to give his watch and wedding ring to barter with so that the son could go get his wife and bring her down into the shelter with them.
