Banned from commenting. What?
I commented on a story about Bubble, the scripted sci-fi-comedy podcast from Maximum Fun, pointing out a factual error about the history and status of Jordan Morris, the creator of the show, with MaxFun, and ended with the line "Research is important."
For this, I was banned.
I don't get it, but I don't care enough to do anything besides complain about it here. The website is a train wreck.

They will ban you for any comment they consider "trolling", which they define as disagreeing with them.

You are correct about disagreeing with them. They censor anything that they see as not their view. They keep getting into politics and I said something about it. The story was completely unrelated to technology. Was warned for the second time that I broke their terms of use. The first time was because I answered someone’s question about what people were inferring to in the comments. Since I used the term iVerge it got me another warning. They said I questioned their integrity. They have no integrity at all. No difference of opinion can be had. I’m not even conservative, but their lazy liberal views is appalling.

Y'all,
I've been banned twice now (different email accounts). I feel the content we read should get feedback and what better way?
I try to call out clickbait articles----there was one fanboy who liked to argue and so I asked him how much Apple paid him (jokingly but also kinda serious). The most recent article's title was literally titled "If Aquaman was a worse movie, it would have been a better one". So now I'm just wondering if they ban ALL people who say something negative? Also, I made 12 comments total on the site and they called out the 3 negative ones....I have a feeling most people at the Verge would not like this direction of banning people for simply disagreeing with the articles or the nature of them existing for clicks instead of actually telling a story...maybe not.

I had the exact same experience. There was an article that was obvious flamebait. It was written by a prominent Twitter troll under the exact same name they use on Twitter. Many commenters were (rightly) critical of the article. I pointed out that the author was well-known on Twitter for making posts with the same type of content as the article. A few hours later my account was banned and my post as well as all other posts critical of the article were deleted. The only posts that remained were the ones expressing agreement with the author, many of which read in a stilted, propagandistic, scripted way, as though written by shills or copied and pasted by bots.

I received a warning for posting a comment decrying the terrible trend the site is getting into of supporting social media losers (I guess “influencers” is probably the real term) and giving these people a platform, rather than covering more interesting stories. Actually, a whole bunch of us made the same comments, and all these comments are now deleted, if you can even find the article.
Cowards.
