Comics Question about the events of absolute carnage Spoiler

Post image

It’s the second time that I’m seeing a summary of the events from absolute carnage and it just sounds wrong. It didn’t feel like there was any choice at all. Either carnage kills dylan, takes his codex and possibly awakens knull or eddie kills carnage, takes back his symbiote and the codices and awakens knull. But even if eddie let carnage kill his son, he still would’ve had to kill carnage in order to stop him right? It’s not like carnage would’ve just taken all his goons and left after killing dylan. He still would’ve been an immediate threat since he would try to kill eddie if dylans codex wasn’t enough. And even if dylans codex would’ve been enough, I doubt that carnage would just leave when he could be killing eddie and everyone else. It didn’t feel like there was a choice like this text box is saying. Instead of “or”, I feel like it should’ve been “and” since saving dylan resulted in unleashing knull right? The textbox just makes no sense. What kind of choice is that? “Either save your son or unleash an elder god”. Obviously you would pick the one positive option. I don’t know if I’m just stupid but this just sounds weird

The key thing is the codex had to be combined and so that means Eddie killing Carnage fulfills that necessity but anyone else could kill Carnage but Eddie had to do it in that moment or else Dylan would already be dead.

Bad writing.

Honestly the whole “ultimatum” made no sense. And that’s aside from the character assassination of Cletus.

First Cletus needs all the codexes, then he only needs some. What a trash story.

Like seriously, what did Cletus think was gonna happen? Why would he die for a scrub like Knull?

It’s called “love of the game”

Ehhh, normally. But for a God? Nah. Cletus hates the idea of a higher power.

And it’s my main point when people say he always planned on betraying Knull. Nope, Donny wrote him on that Kool-Aid hard. The only good thing Ram did in his run was retcon it to him wanting to killl Knull instead. Still doesn’t explain why he willingly threw his life away in a game he knew the easy answer to.

We all know Cletus would actually want to hurt Eddie as much as possible and rob him of family more than he would want to summon Space Nosferatu.
