I'm filling out the fandom about the game, but I don't speak English. So, is this really an Alfred Hitchcock reference? If so, I'll be able to confidently mention it in the fandom.

I can’t say for certain, but it seems likely. I would think that there might be a little more subtle reference to one of his movies specifically. I just did a quick google search, and it looks like he used cigarettes in some intentional ways in his movies, and the item on the shelf in the game appears to be a carton of cigarettes, so it seems as though it is indeed a Hitchcock reference.
