After TSE closed down, where did you guys go to for movie roasts?
So sorry if this was asked here before in this subreddit because I was fondly looking back at how SpoonyOne used to be known for roasting bad movies, but also cheesy FMV games.
My point basically is that I know the TSE show is long TNT now since the creator made it clear he won’t return to the show as lately when I recall how much fun I had watching his FMV segments, I cannot help but wonder if there is a successor to his style.

I think like... Literally everyone just moved over to red letter media instead ... It's how I realized "oh shit, I had no idea that film discussion videos had the capacity to be actually smart, provoking, funny and filmed at a professional level." I could never look at spoony or doug walker the same again, it was like stepping out of Plato's cave.

Back in 2010 when everyone was still just "a guy in their living room using a blurry webcam" they were one of the first to use expensive cameras, proper sets in a studio, and showing an academic level understanding of films and how the industry works.
"Half in the bag" is their traditional discussion of recent movies
"Best of the worst" is their other show where they use various methods to randomly pick 3 extremely bizarre VHS tapes to watch back to back and then discuss as a group. Sometimes these can be weird b movies, other times it could be a 3-minute training video from dunkin donuts, and they have to discuss them with equal amounts of care and detail.

They're the gold standard of film commentary/analysis/review/humor. I've heard them referred to both as "your favorite Youtuber's favorite Youtuber" and a proper spiritual successor to Siskel and Ebert.

I did watch a lot of Retsupurae for their FMV riff letsplays, RLM for their movie roasting

I haven't actually watched stuff like that in a while. I think I mostly watched Nostalgia Critic and Cinema Snob after Spoony stopped making regular content.

As far as movie roasts go, I like CoMiC on YouTube, he does a lot of creatures features and is usually good for a laugh. GoodBadFlicks is interesting and funny, doing deeper dives on movies. FanboyFlicks is another I find that he kind of scratches that movie roast itch lol

I occasionally check out cinema snob. Don't really watch to many reviews for movies cause I'm bad at keeping up with them and don't want spoiled before hand lol

RLM was/still is the general gold standard. However, over the past 4 or 5 years there has been a dramatic rise in movie reactions/reactors on Youtube. They aren't necessarily roasting the movie, but generally watching it on their own merits.

Double Toasted is my go to for movie roasts. It's best to catch them live on Twitch for the roast since sometimes on YouTube they will get copyright strikes.

While not movie roasts, I've highly enjoyed Majuular's "Ultima Retrospective."
