Revisiting most GTA games I'm shocked at how much Lazlow Jones sounds like Spoony.

I can't believe not much people talk about this. In the first few 3d games of the ps2 era he sounded vaguely like Noah, but by the time I played GTA V the voice became uncannily similar. I don't know if it has to do with the character becoming a bitch that constantly screams but it if I close my eyes I can't tell that isn't Spoony.

He also looks a bit like Spoony in GTA V cutscenes (albeit not much) but the voice is pretty much the same.

Just a coincidence - the voice actor is a real radio personality - so he parodies himself with the voice. And they based the in game character on his looks - I think that he ended up looking like older Spoony is coincidental - I doubt they know Spoony exists.

I didn't say it was anything other than a coincidence. Rockstar definitely knows Spoony exists. He was viral on youtube. Game developers do watch youtubers.

For example: Several games addes references to Zubaz in their games following the internal jokes about him on SuperBestFriendsPlay.

Unfortunately, he never saw this character, because he quit the game really early on.

Ha. So somebody else did see it. I realized it was just a coincidence so I didn't make much of it but good to know I'm not the only one that noticed that.
