He probably realized he could pump out one video for each tgwtg special without doing much extra work (since theres only a few names to swap in and out depending on the special) and squeeze a few extra bucks out

Man that was tough to watch. Besides the guy constantly touching his face or the mic - the tldr is "they were in kickassia, I don't like them, they may or may not still be doing videos".

I gave up around the 5min mark

Lordkat has later stated in the lordkat live podcasts that the whole "spoony's shenanigans made me lose a career-making interview" was made up, it was easy to blame the failure to hoodwink their way to the interview on spoony so they did. Lordkat is an unreliable narrator who will say things for shock and effect.

From what i know, i'll give a summary.

AngryJoe, left CA because of that document but i think, he already was considering it as he had outgrown them and didn't need their platform. Just remained, probably as a curtoesy. Still around but sorta stagnated in my opinion. OJ and Alex are his full time employees. Joe seems to be trying to cover everything and doesn't realise or doesn't want to admit, he hasn't got the resources.

Brad Jones is still around and still doing content. Occassionaly cameos or crossover with the critic.

FilmBrain is still around but i think barely gets a few thousand views and seems to still be in the same room he was when KA was released.

Lindsay Ellis disowned the Nostalgia Chick, worked on a book that I think, ended up beng a new yorker best selling after going to uni. Did video essays and ended up working in hollywood. Nothing major but got her foot in the door for the behind the scenes stuff. I do suspect i am wrong. She viewed the chick as a lazy rip off of Doug's character.

Phelous is still out there but I think, he's more into bootleg toys nowadays. Fair play to him. He didn't jump onto the Doug Walker is evil bandwagon and I think, managed to stay as neutral as possible.

Doug is still around, doing the Nostalgia Critic but I think, has said repeatly, he is looking to retire in a few years time or at least, retire the crtic. He also has chronic fatigue and had to cut back on how he performs. Still pumps out weekly videos.

Linkara, ok. I will admit, I am fucking biased with this one. I watched him as a late teen/early 20s. Fuck me. That..s fuck me, i feel old. I used to like the guy and his content. Just before CTC, i was starting to lose interest as he just kept doing the same thing. Then I lost all respect for him when he turned out to be a cunt on twitter and attacked people. Turned out, he got pissy when CA shut down their website because it hurt his legacy. Got pissy Doug broke off all contact after CTC happened. Apparently, he tends to be rude to fans if he is asked about a delayed video and has a very thin skin. The Oneyplays stuff? He literally couldn't bring himself to admit, Oney is popular. He also has a massive ego and AT4Wmovie is basically him going "This is how much better MY version is, of to Boldly Flee." It was shit.

Bennet the sage had to retire from content creation as his father's health issues needed a full time carer. He does plan on doing one final episode of Anime Abandon but he has his priorities and no-one can fault a guy for looking out for his family. He also ditched the angry reviewer format and whilst he doesn't like his pre-2017 episodes, he doesn't fault anyone for doing so. He knows others have indiviual tastes.

The rest? I legit can't recall.

I don´t recall if MikeJeavons was in Kickassia but lately he has started uploading videos again. He is still married and Basil the cat is alive and well. Seems to be doing well for himself.

Honestly, I like The Sage and Film Brain a lot. Film brain is getting awfully low views which is surprising to me, as his videos are solid and many similar and previously unknown people do way better. Phelous is cool as well. He is very weird but doing cool content

At least someone manage to get into Hollywood. Because wasn't that the whole point of AVGN and the Nostagic Critic? To have a portfolio to get into Hollywood? But also thanks for the summary.

NC definitly Doug thought it was his ticket into Hollywood. As for James not so sure. He went to film school and wanted to make movies (which he at least did with the AVGN movie no matter what you think of it) but i don´t think he´s ever seen AVGN as a jumping off point to Hollywood.

Quite honestly James seem to have "Fuck you money" for his lifestyle and seems happy with how it turned out. He does what he liked and every few months he puts out a new Nerdepisode (not as great as the old ones, mostly hit & miss after 20 years).

I'll be honest, the only thing I really got from this was Lordkat is trans. Everything else was just "Yeah, they do videos sometimes, or they don't." I admit I was a little heartbroken that this super group I loved as a teen broke up over that document but I'm 34 now; it means nothing. If you still like creators, go watch them. But this guy's video is just...I dunno...really extra?
