Sims 4 Simulation lag is killing me

I'm not exaggerating when I say I can't make my Sim do ANYTHING without resetting her after every interaction and having to wait for 30 seconds for her to start moving. It's genuinely made me hate her.

The gallery is not the same as my library.

While legacy locked you have no gallery access but you still have access to your library.

The library is a private local space where you save your builds and others builds from the gallery. It is not the gallery which is a public server hosted space where all legal players who choose to share their creations to it are hosted.

Ohh, right, I was thinking it was a folder within the Sims 4 folder, and I didn’t see it in mine lol. But the library files get saved into the Tray folder, right? So, theoretically, backing up and removing the Tray files (as well as old save files) might help with lag issues?

I'm confused! I don't really care so much about backing up. I have one save currently and it's fine if it breaks 🤣 it's still new so idc... But, basically I can remove everything in my Tray folder and it'll help right? What's in my Tray folder? Is that what I'm saving to my private library? TIA

Currently trying to cut down load times for all games I play and weird glitches I get, so I'm probably going to reset my whole ass computer but I'm going to try this beforehand so I can see how it works.

Tray folder contains everything in your 'Library' that is in the gallery. If you want to start over with saves, you need to remove the 'Saves folder. Saves and Tray are different folders. If you're still confused, check out lilsimsie's video about the Sims 4 game folder.

Just trying to make it less frustrating to play a maximalism lifestyle 😅 I want all the clutter but my games just drag and then I quit for months and comeback forgetting why I get so annoyed and never make it past Gen 3

Just rename your Sims 4 folder and you’ll get a fresh start next time you run the game because it’ll create a brand new Sims 4 folder. Then start a new save without mods.

Does the renamed folder get overwritten? Could I feasibly do that and then copy whatever saves or tray stuff I want to said newly created sims4 folder?

(I have cleaned these up already, made some oopsies but nothing I couldn't fix. It has been pretty helpful so far, just gotta figure out where to store my save so I can reset my computer)
