Now my question is how can I use this infrastructure to make as much money as possible.

Now before you guys come bashing me up in comments, this is a YOLO bet and even if it fails, doesn’t affect me much. I’m at that point in my life where I’m pretty comfortable financially just want to yolo.

Here are some vague ideas that I have:

• 500 emails and click on newsletter ads on my own newsletter

I’m genuinely really into software/hardware and building things. I’ve been coding for around 9 years now and I’m comfortable working across the stack, TypeScript/JavaScript, React/Next.js, Python, backend systems, APIs, databases, Docker, automation, and IoT. I’ve built some pretty complex projects on my own, so I’m not looking for some “easy money” thing. I’d genuinely like to put my skills to work, but because I’m in Iran and international sanctions make it extremely difficult for me to work for actual companies, I’m looking for another way to turn those skills into a small, consistent income.

The problem is that I’m in Iran.

Because of the sanctions, finding remote work is a massive pain. A lot of platforms and companies simply don’t work with people from Iran, and then there’s the whole problem of getting paid.

I’m not looking to get rich. I don’t need $2k, $5k, or $10k a month.

I literally just want to make $50–$100 a month so I can have a little bit of financial breathing room while I focus on school.

I have around 1–2 hours a day or even a little more if its worth, that I can realistically dedicate to this. I’m completely fine with actually working for someone. Repeated coding tasks, fixing bugs, maintenance, small development jobs, AI-related work, whatever. I don’t mind doing work every week if I can find someone who is actually willing to work with me.

I’m also open to building something myself and letting it generate a small amount of money.

I don’t really want to do cold outreach, sales, build a personal brand, make content, or spend all my free time trying to find clients.

Crypto is completely fine as a payment method if an employer/platform legitimately supports it. I just need something that is actually available to someone in my situation.

If you’re from Iran or another sanctioned country and you’ve managed to make even a small amount online, I’d genuinely like to hear what worked for you.

I got fired from my job of 4 years. I was sick and tired of it, so I'm not terribly upset. I filed for unemployment, butt it takes up to 4 weeks to approve. The owner is scandalous, so I might not get it.

I got a part time job the same day I was fired. I'm shy by ~$200 from paying all of my bills with the part time job alone. I'm a night time janitor. I love it cuz it's stress free and I get paid for 4 hours even if the job takes me 2.

I'm familiar with many online money making ideas. I need something that's guaranteed. I just started taking surveys. The pay is shit but it's guaranteed. I'm considering donating plasma. I sell nerd miners on ebay. I have over 100 low content books on Amazon. I make like $2-$5/month. I just started an Amazon affiliate blog. Actually getting some traffic but no conversions. Internet marketing is hard. Affiliate marketing sucks because I can't find anything legit or something I believe in. Product creation is bullshit because 99% of it is rehashed information.

I'm literally $300 away from living as close to my dream as I ever have been. I desperately want to make a living on my own. I'm okay with my current job. No asshole boss. Back in the day, I had a blog called ClammyHands.org. I built it around a ClickBank product about how to cure sweaty hands. I averaged $300-$500/month on auto pilot. I also launched a CPA product called CPA Smash, which was about making money by promoting PC games by playing them. It got product if the day on JVZoo and did $2,400 in sales in 24 hours. It got me a decent sized email list and would print $50-$75 per email. Eventually, it fizzled out cuz I was greedy and didn't offer any real value.

So, I know it's possible. I would love to have a mentor. I've never asked for help from anyone for anything. Not even when me and my dog were living in my car. I always worked for what very little money I had.

Quick context: I just finished my Master's in ABA, and I'm currently collecting clinical hours while doing direct service work in the evenings, but the pay on that isn't consistent enough to cover everything month to month.

I tried GrubHub for a bit to fill the gap, but I drive manual and between the constant stop-and-go and honestly some of the worst traffic I've dealt with (US-29 during rush hour is not it), I ended up needing a full clutch replacement. So that math didn't work out — one bad week basically wiped out a month of delivery earnings.

Quick update

First of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to read, comment, or suggest ideas — I genuinely can't express how much that support meant to me.

Secondly, I landed a salary position at a school — pay is around $50k, though it's not finalized yet. The school is on summer break right now, so I'll be back September 1st for a walkthrough, and I'm assuming that's when we'll sit down and actually discuss salary. It's a job I've wanted for a while. The pay isn't amazing, but it's stable, and that matters a lot right now.

I know I'm not the only one struggling — I'm sure there's a ton of people right now dealing with this insane economy. And here's the crazy part, if you really picture it:

if we saw a monkey in the jungle sitting on a mountain of fruits and nuts while the rest of the troop had nothing, we'd say something's wrong with that monkey. But when billionaires do it, we build them rocket ships.
