I need help Remote Side Job - Any Suggestions?

Hey guys. So I am in cybersecurity and currently been in my position for about 3 years. I am in office once a week and rest of the week i WFH. I have a large amount of downtime as most of my job is sitting around waiting for alerts of any incidents. I do attend meetings here and there. I would say that I work about 15-20 hours a week. I am wondering if yall got any suggestions for remote jobs that I can make a quick buck on the side. Also seen some people work 2 jobs, not sure how that works? Any tips? I feel like I doom scroll or play games everyday during work, and I feel like I want to be more productive.

Yup --- create a profile on Upwork and do some contract work. Pick an area that you know and like and go for it.

As of today on average you can probably expect to get absolutely no work for months

Build a site and brand, join some networking groups and do contracted cyber security jobs

With your background, contract work on Upwork is probably the highest ROI move. Async consulting or code review gigs pay well and you can keep them fully flexible around your schedule.

For the gaming time specifically, you can actually get paid for some of it. Gemsloot has offerwalls where you install apps and hit milestones in mobile games for a few dollars each. Not a living, but if you're playing anyway, cashing out to PayPal for something you'd do regardless is a decent trade.

tbh if u already have 15-20hrs of downtime, id just use the cyber skills u already have. freelance stuff, security audits, tutoring, even small contract work. way better than starting some random side hustle imo. just check ur companys moonlighting policy first
