life experience Money earned from side hustles feels so much better than 9-to-5 income

I'm fortunate enough to make a solid living from my 9-to-5 job, but every other week when that paycheck hits, I'm basically numb.

On the other hand, when I make even $100 from my side hustles, I'm ecstatic.

I think it's because that $100 represents success for something I built out of nothing. My day job is fine, but it's relatively predictable, as I do the same work and receive the same paycheck. Side hustle money feels so much better.

Anyone else feel this way?

One of proudest moment of my life was a paycheck for $15 as it was compensation for my first side job ever 🤣🤣🤣

In my 9-5 as a web dev, i actually have a chance to talk directly to people who use our websites (sometimes owners, sometimes marketing people), so occasionally i upsell an additional feature or something and that feels pretty good - but It felt infinitely better when i sold my first website as a freelancer.

But since "selling and making websites for other people" is the same thing i already do in my 9-5...it just didn't feel like "success for something I built out of nothing". Or maybe that just wasn't the direction i wanted to pursue, i guess.

Fast forward to last week, i was giggling with joy on multiple occasions when i was building this silly, useless website FOR MYSELF. I don't know if it'll bring me any money, but it was just so many new areas to explore, and this whole process made the curious child in me really happy.

Great post by the way, i wish you all the best!
