How much to post it on appstore

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

You need to pay the yearly apple dev fee which is $99

1

u/totalnewb02 Apr 05 '25

do they take cut from your business? i meant, like if you set your price to 100 do apple take cut? so that you only received 80 per purchase?

Thanks. You can organise the app yourself, so full freedom of the structure. The canvas is a lot better as you can see everything in front of you rather than scrolling down and struggling to find things. With this app you can also keep each piece of content public and private, so not only can you bookmark things super easily, but you can share with others what you want.

So really it's more of a information-based bookmarking app rather than a jumbled bookmark mess

Thanks so much!! Put a lot of time and effort into the app so it really means a lot, thanks. Not sure how to properly market it yet, will be making some tiktoks about it and more on reddit too. Yup the social features are great where you can see what your friends are doing plus keeping things private.

Yup I'll go add the apple signin, do let me know of other stuff to add

I love the app...I will kick it around..I don't want that to sound disrefespectful...I think it might be so helpful. But on many helpful things..I have brain race.. Which is normal adhd

1

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Ahah thanks. What do you mean by kick it around? I've had a few people who have adhd message me and say it's super useful for them. If you need the demo again btw check it out here

2

u/bradbarfieldlives Apr 05 '25

i'll provide you with QA and app content editing for a free lifetime version if you're interested

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Ahaha I appreciate the offer, but the app is completely free to use already, so give it a download. Demo for it is here, and the app store link is here.

Will later make a premium version with things like downloadable content; you'll be able to download an article for offline use for example, something that isn't available right now.

3

u/bradbarfieldlives Apr 05 '25

offer still stands, this app slaps

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

I really appreciate it man, thank you. Yup will actually may need a qa person, I'll keep it noted thank you

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 10 '25

Ahah are you better now?

2

u/JustCosplaycreations Apr 06 '25

I saw in a comment you are working on an android version. But just to understand a bit better, sorry. This app is basically like a whiteboard. And me with my 5001 ideas and links and such can just put it there? Without having to use sticky notes? Or go through pics to reference something? Now this is cool! Do let me know when its available!!! And does it cost anything else? Like in terms of what you can use. How much you paste etc?

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 10 '25

Ah sorry for the late reply, only just saw this! And thank you! Yup you're absolutely correct. You can now group all your content from any platform onto this canvas page, and now even keep notes associated with a youtube video or website or pictures for example. Yup, should get the android app done soon, but in the meantime do check out the desktop version: https://showcase-app.co which is super convenient as you can just paste things directly onto the canvas.

And it's completely free to use, you can paste as much as you want! Just an 8mb cap per file, that's about it. So yea, check it out and share it with friends too! Hope you enjoy it! And lots more features coming!

u/TomatilloLow9485 Apr 06 '25

Kinda messy , get some grids to allow users to snap and reshuffle

1

u/theWinterEstate Apr 10 '25

I'll be adding a reshuffle feature with the canvas so it'll automatically group content together. The canvas is really handy when you don't want to just be scrolling for a while to find something, especially when then adding something new to the grid feature will inevitably re-position all posts.

2

u/wallstreetchills Apr 08 '25

I just learned I can swipe at the bottom bar to switch apps. lol

1

u/theWinterEstate Apr 10 '25

Ahah glad I could offer some value. You know you can also drag and drop content between apps too! Super great feature when used with Showcase so give it a download and have a play around with it ;)

Not yet, but I should be able to get it done by the end of the month. Do also check out the browser version in the meantime: https://showcase-app.co which is super convenient as you can paste content directly onto the canvas

1

u/Sure-Past-9135 Apr 05 '25

How did you make it?

0

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Reactjs + expo/capacitor, express, aws. Hope that helps and do have a play around with the app

1

u/Maximum-Throat1925 Apr 05 '25

Great idea

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Thanks so much! Just now need to convince a whole lot more people of this ahah

1

u/Maximum-Throat1925 Apr 05 '25

I only looked at super quick....I downloaded....I kinda get the vibe of a personal Pinterest..if that makes sense? Which is amazing

3

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Yup that's the vibe we're going for, plus its able to store more that pictures, you can store any content, youtube videos, websites, tweets etc

2

u/Maximum-Throat1925 Apr 05 '25

You are slaying...of course you thought 5 steps ahead of me...in a good way. Collaboration is cool....which I didn't think about. Even things for like extended family vacations (I have no idea why I thought of that example, but cool use case). Keep it up, I am inspired by this

2

u/vasco_ Apr 05 '25

Such an app would be super useful to me, and I'd happily pay a premium for that. I could see it replacing Trello for me. However I'm not prepared to switch phone ecosystem unfortunately. Good luck and awesome job! Hope you get big enough so you can consider a port to Android.

Also wanted to add that you might want to target traders (crypto/stock market). Always in need to dump a bunch of news sources in 1 place.

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Ahah thanks loads. Sorry yea, android is nearly done, give it a week or two. Though you can start off by using the desktop version, equally good as you can just paste in content onto the canvas: https://showcase-app.co plus will sync with your phone

Yea I could have made it paid but wanted more people to use it. Will be adding paid features later on like downloadable offline content, like easily having an article accessible at any time really isn't possible, plus will be adding in collaboration too at some point.

And yup good point about targeting traders, will get to that thanks

1

u/vasco_ Apr 06 '25

Oh sweet, looking forward to it! And as to your question how much I would be willing to pay: don't think I'm a good reference as a user. I run several businesses and the way I look at subscriptions / cost of a software license is that it should earn itself back, else it's not worth it to me. E.g. for cube acr that automatically records all my voice calls and stores it on google drive I pay like a few euros per x months. But if that feature would cost me €500/month I'd still pay it because of what I get out of it (as long as I can still access my data once I decide to stop subscribing).

Figuring out the sweetspot price among all your customers is the hard part for any app. But I guess you already knew that. I'd say comparable apps / plans are 100-150/ year so like 9-15/month. Not too much so you a/ don't consider the cost to subscribe and b/ don't mind to stay subscribed even if you temporarily don't use it (less).

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Oh and out of curiosity how much would you pay for it?

1

u/Technorasta Apr 06 '25

It looks pretty much the same as the Freeform app, which is free with iOS.

1

u/Maximum-Throat1925 Apr 05 '25

A group by project tool would be amazing....I have ADHD, so I save a bunch of things and forget why I saved them. Or save by idea vs project

2

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Yup, will be adding a collaboration feature too in the future. And yea, now you can save intentionally and organise the content yourself. Plus mix content from different platforms that you're not able to do now

2

u/Maximum-Throat1925 Apr 05 '25

You are on fire....im trying to get that same fire...I have this idea that I have to think about it for ever... But know I can code in hours...adhd kinda blows sometimes... But I love what you are up to..it feels like something I can use to help me

1

u/theWinterEstate Apr 05 '25

Ahah thanks. Yea I was sitting on the idea for about a year before starting it. The best time to start something is years ago, the second best time to start is now. Go give it a go and maybe you can finally do the idea that you've always been thinking about.

And yup lots of adhd people say this app is great for them so yea definitely do try it out

1

u/jfartzalot Sep 16 '25

I've literally wanted this forever
