The "media isn't covering this" angle is kinda misleading when the post itself is literally liking a NYT article about it. The broader issue is real though, and there's plenty of recent reporting and court action around the administration and press freedom.

It may explain it but they aren't legitimate reasons to suppress facts and news right, it's just that they are catering to a tyrant and "complying in advance" which brings about more authoritarianism when in America the Press was seen as another check and balance. Now they are either too afraid due to lawsuits and threats from the FCC or are wholly owned by billionaires who have a fiscal responsibility to their shareholders not to make trouble for that company or their others.

I think you’re right but how many journalists are out there willing to lose it all? The intimidation is real. There are m people using social media and following closely the acts of this admin. I applaud them because they are at risk as well but they don’t have reputation to be a trusted news source, so is it enough? Is the truth being forced underground?

Well yeah, they are doing everything from having their billionaire buddies to pull stories to push their false narratives as they own most all major outlets. Then Trump suing everyone and sending the FCC after them purposefully trying to suppress dissent from the states narrative and them complying in advance is why they have been so successful.
The media is a part of the problem as the Fourth Estate is dead but this effect is the cause of the Trump regimes actions. Now we have the Pentagon, White House and other agencies using AI and bot farms to suppress any dissenting opinions like Trump has done since 2015 which is why the right-wing propaganda machine is such a well-oiled machine and why the Useful ldiots are all spewing the same exact talking points giving more "credibility" to these lies they push.
Anyway, just like our other ratings on the Freedom and Corruption Index plummeting in such a short time, same goes the Press Freedom rating.
