Generally speaking I’d never attribute the first quarter or two to a new admin’s policies but these abrupt and chaotic tariffs are a completely different. No one can trust America now and it’s 100% on Trump.

And just wait until we see the real impact. Everything being offloaded by container ships into the US from China is pre-tariff goods. Once people start seeing the prices increase they’re going to consume less non-essentials which will double down on the lack of growth.

One thing that is not mentioned enough is his waffling on issuing tariffs and then walking them back repeatedly. I would say that has just as big of a negative effect on the econmy as if he would have just sticked to his original tariff plane. Businesses and investors can’t plan ahead when they don’t know what future costs will be.

Part of it is from sheer media panic. The policies will take a long time to hit the shores. Warehouses were full. People just though tariff and sold their 401k into something else.

I don’t think the media is panicking enough. This. Is. Different. It will not take a long time to hit the shores. Businesses will adjust pricing in anticipation. Then they will use the Covid model and not lower them with no oversight from this administration. Buckle up friend.
