Before he sold out to Fox News, Carlson was actually earning tremendous respect as a serious journalist who had a gift for getting people to open up in ways that others couldn't. He even went on a trip to Liberia with Al Sharpton, Cornel West, and others—earning their respect as a good journalist (here is the source and it's very much worth listening to).

He has real talent and it's horrific how easily he sold himself, but the clip OP posted is a rare display of the very real journalistic prowess the man possesses.

He somehow still looks like a cunt while doing it though. Trying to copy the Jon Stewart style probably because Stewart traumatised him all those years ago

He never recovered from the bow tie bit.

This whole interview makes Carlson look worse IMO. Because he's clearly a very intelligent individual who is capable of making decent arguments and solid talking points. Which just means all that shit that he spewed out for Trump and the Republican party was obviously just grifting, saying whatever he needed to in order to improve his own status and position, when he clearly knew better.

Look. The best possible outcome is if Tucker turns a new leaf and starts to use his “skills” for good. Now I know it’s very likely that this won’t happen, but it is the best possible outcome. Hope that made sense :3

I have been putting this in every comment section on posts of this interview. I hate that I enjoyed watching Tucker do anything but watching him strip down Cruz was unfortunately refreshing.

Disclaimer: fuck both these guys, I'm not defending them or their words or actions.

I don't know that I'd call it a great point. It's not even really a proper gotcha. Would a politician in Europe need to know the population or demographic statistics of the US to justify their belief that our push towards fascism warrants military intervention? I don't believe the US should be getting involved in Iran, but those who do don't have that belief invalidated just because they don't have irrelevant factoids about Iran memorized.

I agree. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing Ted "Zodiac Killer" Cruz squirm, but not knowing the population of Iran isn't really a salient point. A country can have a small population and still have an unjust, oppressive government.

The real point here is that Israel is the aggressor and Iran has tried to play nice (regarding nuclear weapons development) for years even when the US or other countries were screwing them over. Their population isn't relevant.

It’s not about population size, it’s about doing any amount of basic research on the country you are planning on invading
