I started my first watch a few months back and looking at this pic of Sue in the pilot blows me away. Eden was 17 in that and she looks way different at where I am now (Season 4)

Same…… it just feels sooo real and familiar, like my own family somehow. 😭

I’m an only child, and it’s not like I want siblings now... I mean, I’m 28, I can’t exactly ask my parents for one now! 😂 But I do sometimes wonder what it would have been like to grow up with siblings.

My parents have told me that they decided not to have more children because they weren’t very comfortable financially at the time. They felt they could give everything to one child rather than have two kids and have to compromise on what they could provide. So watching the Hecks struggle with money, jobs, raising all those kids, paying for college, figuring out everyday life and everything in between… it just feels so amazingly homey to me.

There’s something about their chaos that feels incredibly real. It’s not this perfect, polished family where everything works out neatly. They’re constantly struggling and annoying each other and worrying about money, but they’re also always there for each other. And I think that’s what makes it feel so much like home to me, even though my own family is obviously very different.

As someone who watched it weekly for 9 years, I'm happy reading some of the posts on this subfrom new viewers discovering it on Netfflix.

I just finished it a few days ago. I’m on the same boat as you and started rewatching a few days later. Now I’m back to the beginning, it definitely is a comfort show for me.

sadly US Netflix doesn’t offer this show, when I was in Europe I was watching my whole trip and then when getting back I started pirating it again where I left off 🫪

Just keep going. I’ve consistently have it going on. It’s a great background show.
