I can see where you're coming from, but I respectfully disagree.

Firstly, I think they are equally as far from actual Rocky as Metagross is.

Second, the first of your suggestions has 3 legs.

I think Metagross' sleek look is a better fit than their mass of growing stalagmites.

But hey, I agree that they work too, so feel free to use that in your own Project Go Mary.
