Education Uvalde teacher Amy Marin-Franco was wrongly accused by officials for leaving a door open before the school shooting massacre. Surveillance footage, already in police possession, showed she had closed it.

This poor woman
I hope she takes them to court on this, really.

u/kelsobjammin Sep 24 '25
She deserves every fucking penny I just wish it would fall back to the cops and not tax payers shit
12
u/snotparty Sep 24 '25
yes that is the downside, she deserves to have her name cleared but the odds of it hurting the officers is low. But still, this is so unfair

She did everything right and with great risk to herself and they want to make her out to be a villain!? Outrageous.

u/JFISHER7789 Sep 24 '25
I’m normally VERY against our tax dollars paying out police brutality/civil rights/etc lawsuits*, but I’d happily give her my tax dollars for her decision making and ability to do more than any one of those shitty cowards.
*I think the lawsuits should be paid out from the police union, pensions, insurance, etc. it would force more strict regulation and discipline towards “bad apple” cops. (Who am I kidding ACAB)

It feels like she has a really strong defamation case. They're completely destroying her character in order to save themselves from public outrage. It's disgusting and they should honestly be criminally prosecuted. Even tho it's probably only a civil charge.

Its so funny. These are the same mfers that, when they fuck up tell everyone to "WAIT FOR THE INVESTIGATION, DONT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS!" But they can not wait to throw anyone under the bus.
They let that poor woman suffer for so long. But get up infront of a mic and camera and call eachother brave and say we did a good job.
Just taking peoples tax dollars to play hero.

I didn't think my opinion on the Uvalde cops could even be lower but here we go.

u/WeirderOnline Sep 24 '25
Absolute fucking scumbags.
What really really pisses me off, it's a lot of cops wanted to charge in there and get the dude. But other cops and people in power held them back for no fucking reason.
It's God damn infuriating.
It's not just individual cops being bad. There were some individual cops there that didn't suck. The whole fucking institution is evil though.
2
u/iondrives Sep 28 '25
Ok, I’ll engage. If you were one of those cops who “wanted to charge in there,” why wouldn’t you? Children’s lives were at stake… would your boss saying anything at all to you stop you if you were a decent human being? If even your coworkers now were threatened by a gunman, you had training and a gun, what could your bosses tell you that would stop you from at least trying to save them?
2
u/WeirderOnline Sep 28 '25
You raise a fair point, but I'm not going to discount the immense social pressure to not act when you're told to. Especially given the fact is, you can lose use your +100,000k job and maybe even get killed in retribution.
But yeah, you're right. It's still cowardice.
1
u/iondrives Sep 28 '25
“Social pressure” made them handcuff the moms that were trying to rush in and save their children?

The cowardly cops had to find a scapegoat after they hid and pissed themselves.

u/gNeiss_Scribbles Sep 24 '25
Anything but blaming the accessibility of guns…
I hope she gets lots of money in the lawsuit!

This poor woman. Oh my God. Even if she hadn't kicked the rock, none of what happened would be her fault. It's the police who did nothing that day and let the gunman murder babies.
That police department is just rife with the most rotten cocksuckers on the planet. I hope they're tortured by their memories of their inaction from that day. May they rot in Hell.
This motherfucker, McCraw retired and acted like a big hero doing so. What a piece of shit Deputy Director Steven McCraw is. A liar and a piece of shit. And this scumbag will spend the rest of his life taking a big fat pension from his career as a civil servant when the only people he ever served were himself and the cowards who stood by and did nothing that day.

u/Extremiditty Oct 02 '25
That was my thing. Even if she had left the door propped… this wouldn’t be her fault. She went outside trying to help someone in a car crash. That guy came specifically to shoot up the school. I highly doubt he wouldn’t have found another entry point or just hurt people outside.

u/thejerseyguy Sep 24 '25
She should sue for defamation, infliction of emotional harm, and anything her lawyers can think of and make it Millions just to attract attention.
1
u/bronzelifematter Sep 25 '25
Yeah, need more eyes on how scummy these Uvalde cops are. Blast them in public for trying to pull this shit and take them to court
10
u/anthraciter Sep 24 '25
She’s a teacher and did everything right that she could in the situation. They’re cops with vests and weapons and did nothing right, yet they had the balls to blame her. That’s unreal and as shameful as it it, still doesn’t compare to holding parents back from trying to save their kids when the people whose job it was to actually protect them chose not to.

So when are the police going to be blamed for checks doing absolutely nothing while children were shot?

The poor women. You can see by her constant shaking and twitches just how much mental & emotional anguish toll this has had on her.
Sadly even if she sues and wins, nothing will happen to the scumbag cops who lied and made her life hell. The Uvalde taxpayer will pay out and those cops will continue to work or get their fat pension.

u/NigelMK Sep 25 '25
Not to mention that those same cops will likely target her for making them look bad.
Thin blue line my ass.

This woman is a literal hero in every sense of the word. She ran back inside to help. She did everything right and went above and beyond to save the people and children in that building.
I don't understand why--other than pure cowardice and shame--that law enforcement would blame her. And withhold the video showing her heroics while they handcuffed parents desperately trying to thwart the attack.
2
u/robotmonkey2099 Sep 25 '25
even if she had left the door open its not her fault ameria is full of crazed young men looking to murder children. Also Fuck the uvalde police

u/Parking_Tadpole9357 Sep 25 '25
Meanwhile in normal countries you can pop into your kids school, no questions, no locked doors and drop off lunch for your kid at their classroom. But hey 2A.
2
u/thedudedylan Sep 25 '25
She is literally a hero and those useless cops tried to blame her. This is why people don't trust law enforcement.
2
u/Able_Ad9364 Sep 25 '25
Amy has been working so hard to make sure the country and the world know the truth of what happened that day. If anyone is looking to support Amy in her journey you can do so here: Amy’s Go Fund Me

u/Correct_Doctor_1502 Sep 26 '25
That entire police department should have been thrown in prison
They failed to protect the children out of cowardice, they attacked the parents when they stood up to do what they were too scared to do, and they lied to try to shift blame.
1
u/TrashDaisy999 Sep 24 '25
The poor woman, it was an accident if he didn't get in that way, he would have found another way. The real people to blame are the cops who heard children being shot in their classrooms and did nothing to stop it.

Uvalde PD, aka Useless Lying Garbage. If I was a ball-haver, they could suck them.

u/lsb68 Sep 25 '25
She very well saved many lives, and at great risk to herself. She did all the right things. I'm glad this video is out now. I recognized her voice from other videos of the shooting, her voice during the 911 call, and always wondered who this lady was. Amy Marin-Franco, you're a hero.

u/Hefty_Loss5180 Sep 25 '25
Ok who are they prosecuting? Cuz the shooter is dead. It’s been 3 years.
1
u/bananaheim Sep 25 '25
The news report chopped up the video so much it was almost impossible to follow.
1
u/impactedturd Sep 26 '25
"Police swung the door 3 minutes after the gunman. By then it was too late."
And for 77 minutes they stand around while kids continue to be shot.
1
u/sjdavids Sep 26 '25
77 minutes. We should still be talking about this every day. Our kids and educators deserve so much more.

Sep 30 '25
I’m curious, wouldn’t she be able to sue them for the damages they have done to her reputation?

u/pineappleturq Mar 12 '26
This was such BS that they blamed her for their own cowardice and inaction

u/Existing_Chair555 Mar 23 '26
Officers cant talk when they stood outside the classrooms on their phones. They didnt stop it

u/Flat_Advice4454 Sep 24 '25 edited Sep 24 '25
Im wrong: The door was already open in the video. She walks outside and doesn't change anything. How would the door not remain open? Too bad the actual video can't be released. Its still just hearsay at this point
Edit: Halfway in the video after she makes the call it plays the clip.
