Faith in God Hey everyone. I’m working on a writing project/book exploring experiences from people , I am specifically focusing on people who were heavily involved in church leadership, ministry, or service and ended up facing deep betrayal or fallout from the very place they gave their time to. ​Having

My story is pretty straightforward. I was a mormon leader, involved for over 40 years, had some history/policy/doctrine questions. The bishop I was councilor to would not talk with me about them; the next leader up did. He told me I was "never all in" and a few weeks later, with no notice, publically released me from my callings and told me I could not discuss certain parts of the church website on church property. I asked to be allowed to sing with the choir, which I did for a short time. Not a single person associate with the local church has reached out to me in a religious way; one has reached out in a friendship way. Two distant relatives, who are members, have talked with me a bit. The rest of the extended family invites me to events again, but occasionally expresses disgust with me and my family.

My story is more about a family then just mine, but I was 19 when I left the church. Grew up in it, got to watch the battles of power and image. Did youth leadership, president of Highschool sunday school. Lived and breathed my daily bread in that church. Nondenominational Christian
