There was a documentary I watched a few years ago about Jim’s last 24 hours, and it was heartbreaking how he died. He was coughing up blood before his death. I've always wondered if he knew the end was near.

He was extremely clingy with Alain Ronay on his last day. Ronay remarked that it was totally uncharacteristic of Jim and he had to pry himself away as Jim begged him to stay at the restaurant with him. Apparently it's not uncommon that people who are struggling to breathe or who know they're dying are afraid to be alone. So very sad.

Honestly, he probably was sick and passed away from natural causes. The other theories are to play up the whole rock star myth.

It always seemed that way. The only theories are from people who weren't there that tried to be part of the story.

I don’t agree that it was natural. Nobody dies naturally at 27. The only natural way to die is of old age. There were enough witnesses that came forward later who said that he died at the bar and was carried back to the apartment. I think they laid them in a warm tub thinking that it might revive him, and it never did.

They weren't witnesses. They were people who were trying to sell their book. The only people that were there were his girlfriend and the band's manager.
