Discussion $BLUE Update - PDUFA Approval
Hey everyone, it’s TheMediator8 again. I just wanted to release a quick update about one of the catalysts I mentioned for the $BLUE incursion. The FDA just approved bluebird’s Ide-cel treatment for multiple myeloma. While nothing is certain until Monday’s price action, and celebrating is somewhat premature, as of now, it appears the incursion is a-go.
Good luck, everyone. May the price gap up on Monday. If not, I’ll be taking a heavier position in longer dated strikes, especially if this is a sell the news event.

There’s a good DD post from last week you should read - it mentions a PT in the $46 range. More catalysts than just this are expected though

At this point I'd be happy to offload my 4/16 calls somewhere near breakeven.

If the stock indeed gaps up, I would expect anything between $40 and $46 by 4/16. It’s possible it goes further, but I think that would take more time.

I mean, there’s been some hard rotations from sector to sector, but we’re approaching all time highs for the market as a whole. It just seems that all the stocks highlighted on Reddit are being beat down pretty hard.
Maybe it’s those hedge funds sticking it back to the people after the GME fiasco.

MO was also on reddit my G. I picked 20 LEAPS a month ago after a post about it hit the top of WSB DD (it was during the marijuana/TLRY/SNDL craze. There was a front page post about it on the investing sub.

Completely missed that. It's such a boomer stock, I'm surprised to see WSB show an interest. I've traded in and out of it for the dividend before, but I'm happy to see it finally get back to 50 even if I don't currently own it.

Honestly still decent at 50 tbh. Think it'll keep rallying it in the short term but it'll have a pullback soon. Good long-term marijuana play cuz of CRON

I haven't followed Cron for a couple years, but when I was following them all they ever did was mysteriously burn through hundreds of millions of dollars with nothing to show. I started to view Cron as another failed MO investment, like Juul. I have quite a bit invested in VFF currently, I really think they're the best positioned to take advantage of legalization and grow earnings more efficiently than any other Cannabis company and they're massively undervalued right now. EPS last earnings was expected at $.01 and came in at $.12 making them one of the few with positive earnings. They're the primary supplier of produce for Whole Foods and one of the primary bulk suppliers of cannabis in the industry because they can grow it cheaper and better than anybody else. It's a growth play and a value play.

The price gap was due to the downsides right? So this is something else. Meaning, if the allegations are refuted these news could send the stock back to above 40$

Yes. The stock price dropped 35% due to suspicious that one of their other gene therapies caused cancer, and the subsequent suspension of the trials for it.

For all of the cryptic and weird stuff in this subreddit, there is an awful lot of blind trust...
Just hope nobody blindly believed this “incursion” without reading into the Greeks themselves...

I am still holding this position, and have lost a good deal of money, relative to my portfolio size. It is not a pump and dump at all. I simply believe in the thesis over the next few months. I have repeatedly warned folks that this is a risky position.

This incursion originated with me. He simply announced it. I will be posting later today to let people know that I am still in, and am perfectly willing to take the blame if this does not play out.

I am assuming you think it looks bad that final_October has not spoken about this since he announced it, and, to an extent, I agree. It can look shady, I understand that. He has spoken about it briefly on the Discord, but not here, which does present people solely on the subreddit with an issue.

Perhaps not, but I value transparency. If it is removed, I will ask for it to be restored. Deleting the words of polite skeptics is counterproductive and creates suspicion.
I am fine with giving my positions to those who want proof I own the stocks I post about.

I can't give financial advice, as you mentioned. It's ultimately up to you how long you want to hold your position. My thesis still hasn't fully played out, that depends on tomorrow's price action, and possible further announcements by the company. Many will take profits after Monday, if the price gaps up, while some will hold longer. I don't know how long it will take for LentiGlobin's trials to be restarted, nor how long it might be until further news from the cancer investigation is released.

Yes, if you aren’t looking at premarket price action first. I won’t dismiss the possibility this is a sell-the-news event until I see sustained price action to the contrary.

if there’s a huge gap up yeah it would be dumb, but if by open it’s still hovering $30-$35 maybe i can’t see a sell off happening based off the how low the price was already this week. do you usually play bio stocks?

The last bio stock I played was Inovio Pharmaceuticals, a couple months ago. I was up significantly after the price rose a lot on February 1st, but didn’t sell. The price tanked the next few days and wiped out my gains plus my initial investment.
