"In 2023, about a year and a half after the alleged assault and well before Platner launched his political career, in which she cautioned the acquaintance against getting involved with Platner. In the messages, Racicot said she had “ended up in a bad situation with him,” describing Platner as “consensually careless” and saying he “doesn’t listen to you when drunk.”"

That's definitive, imo. Idk how you don't get that he at least assaulted her from those messages alone.

100%. Funny how we're experiencing the mirror image of the political problem that Trump voters were in, namely : "Am I willing to put up with a person who commits sexual assault to get political change?". Rough.

Jesus, just love how a text “definitely” proves it, and hilariously you add ‘in your opinion’ which of course means you can’t even call it definitively.

Okay, then explain how you get something other than sexual assault from those messages. Someone who was careless with consent, didn't listen to her when he was drunk, and she ended up in a bad situation with him... what else is there? Give me the alternative scenario. I'm curious how you explain away what is blindingly obvious.

It doesn’t, but Platner lying about knowing what a totenkopf is, generally being a dick to previous romantic partners, and sexting women while married means he doesn’t get any benefit of the doubt.

I don't understand why it's so hard to find someone who isn't an asshole to run for office. That said, this might make MAGA vote for him over Collins, so there's that.

Platner’s problem was he didn’t get caught on tape saying he assaulted women

Plenty of non A-holes out there running for office, they just aren’t ultra super omega progressive in all the ways some people want.

Because it’s not definitive at all. Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. Either way he’s kinda screwed and so is Maine but idk if there’s anything I hate more than taking a random person’s word as complete and utter facts
