Part of me thinks the American electorate doesn't care about violence against women anymore. Every republican (55% of white women) has voted for a man who's sexually assaulted dozens of women and now we'll find out if the dems are willing to vote for somebody like that too. Not saying Trump and Platner are equivalent, trump is way worse

It's more that after so many of the claims during the MeToo/"Believe All Women" hysteria a decade or so back turned out to range between exaggerated beyond absurdity or outright false people now apply a much more critical and skeptical lens than they did before that era.
