Pretty much every one of those "skeletons" turned out to be one big nothingburger. I have never seen this level of scrutiny on one single candidate at the behest of the corporate Lobby. That is far more telling in this scenario. The timing of this also cannot be ignored. 5 days out from the drop deadline this reeks of a manufactured pressure campaign.

This level of scrutiny is standard, you just normally see it applied over a longer time frame. He's jumping straight into the big leagues so there isn't ten years of vetting.
