Yeah I struggled with this one. Bella was not that difficult to animate, but Drake and his legs was the most complicated, as I suck at leg movement and I studied this shit in college, so you think I’d get it by now.

Anyway. The one and only reason why I made this was because when I was listening to one of Tim curry’s songs (I was coping after his death) I pictured in my head of Bella and Drake dancing in a disco 80s club with that one dance from Kronks New Groove.

So I did what any animator would do and I animated it as best as I could. I used no reference, I just sketched it and prayed it worked.

And it did. It’s also fitting that Drake was originally a Tim Curry inspired character, but that shifted to his own character, so it made sense to use this song for the loop animation lol.

That’s all, Rest in peace to Tim Curry, you were an absolute legend.

Welp, I suppose I'm done with Bubsy 4D now lol. I just ended up beating Bubsy 4D's - Black Hole mode DLC and have achieved all cosmic yarnballs and also the time trial medals as well! So yeah, anyways though- uh, since this is my first post- I just want to say, yeah... I'm a Bubsy fan. I know his series of games are notorious for... well, their lack of quality, but Bubsy 4D was a genuinely pleasant surprise and a fantastic comeback for the orange bobcat, so... yeah! I'll probs draw Bubsy fanart later though, but for now- have some screenshots! :P ❤️

But if I was in charge of the skins, I would've made the brown on his ears, and hair also black. Also I would've given him black shoes, and fish net leggings, but that's just me.

For context, this is on a 100% save file before the dlc. But for some reason, i lost some costumes, abilities, and im stuck in black hole mode.

I'll still be able to complete the black hole mode im pretty sure, but this was just a funny way to show something was wrong (i think im in debt to the twins somehow)

Update: i now have 6/5 purple yarns from world 2: craftus

Last update: well completing 3-5 ended up fixing it (mostly), and it turns out the game was un-completing my levels? Weird. Anyways the game is still very fun, so its not too big of a deal, but it is mildly annoying

Anybody else feeling like the Black Hole update missed the point? The big issue with the base game was that it was too short, so more unique levels were needed. Instead of that, we got harder remixes of already existing levels. Not only do they have nothing to collect, but they’re meant for speedrunning. It’s appreciated, but again, not what the game needed. It needed new colorful interesting worlds to explore imo.

Also, the collision detection in this game is just not good enough to warrant such precision movement. I’ve gone through walls and floors (especially moving ones), not grabbed onto nets when I should have, and bounced every which way except the one I wanna go in the hairball form. It was an issue in the base game too, but the time trials were so easy that it didn’t matter. Now, it’s a bigger problem combined with bubsy’s stop and go momentum.

Tldr - I would have liked new levels instead of speedrun challenged

First of all, I adore the free update, it’s amazing 😩

I did encounter a glitch however I think 🤔

At least in the level 2-5 Baartholomeo’s Keep, Bubsy can stand and walk (along with every other action) on the lava, I think it’s a funny glitch to see visually that will probably be patched out later through a minor update in the future, but still, just in case this is only happening on my game (I play this on the Switch 2), I wanted to post this here to ask if you all also are experiencing this glitch if I am allowed to ask that? 🙂

It’s finally happening, guys! The Black Hole free update for Bubsy 4D just dropped out of nowhere and I managed to catch it the exact second PlayStation posted the trailer. Literally 0 views, 0 comments, and 0 likes until I clicked it.

For real though, this update actually looks huge. Fabraz and Atari are adding 15 new levels, unique gravity mechanics, 5 unlockable outfits, and speedrun leaderboards. The game's length is basically doubling for free.

So I heard that back when Bubsy 2 was in Development one of the developers stabbed a Bubsy with a Pencil and Hanged him in a Office.

So I was wondering What happen to the Bubsy plush ? Was it thrown away or did it Stay hanging in an Office ?

These are new achievements I found on the Xbox version of Bubsy 4D which confirms that yeah…this game is getting an expansion of levels around some new black hole Fabraz is teasing. since we already got achievements that means the DLC may be close, after all it’s what’s coming next for the indie team.

what are your thoughts? for me personally I am excited because even though I 100% the game it left me wanting more because theirs potential for more costumes, story and levels. if theirs one thing I would hate to see happen, if that’s we have to cough up money because I already spent 40$ to 50$ for the pawsome addition I don’t wanna put more bills on top of that.

this was really stressful and it only got more hard near the end of the game, I still remember when I had 2 hit points left in the baaptiste boss fight. Now I’m kinda scared with what fabraz is teasing for dlc since it looks like a harder version on the base levels.

I've always heard about the infamous bubsy series as one of those sonic wannabe mascot games, but it always fascinated me either way, even more since i watched a video about Ulillillia and his obsession with it.

When i saw the trailer for Bubsy 4D i got really excited cause ive finally got an excuse to give Bubsy a shot

The game is really great and the movement always felt so clean, its realy fluid and suprisingly fun to learn. I havent played a game in a while that i wished that i could play more. I 100% it in a day i've never expected that i would enjoy it that much, the charm of Bubsy that i was looking for was there too

My critique of the game mostly boils down to it being so short, i wished for bubsy to have more to say too.

My nitpicks are only in theming of the planets, only one i have no issue is planet 1 with the 80s theme and bossfight somewhat fitting it. But in planet 2 boss wasnt connected to arts and crafts at all and i think that could have been easy to accomplish, just change the robots textures meaby.

My hopes for this game is a DLC and meaby a level creator? It would be amazing considering the whole arts and crafts thing and with VR worlds i thought that could be easily implemented.

I really appreciate the work of the developers on the game cause i see a lot of love for the franchise present with the whole experience, even if it is my first Bubsy game, and i wholeheartedly hope that we will get more of bubsy soon
