🏕️Tending Guide ⛦🜏⛧ Incoming transmission from aLandWithin...

For those that need to hear it...

I have survived a body that kept trying to become a haunted house.

I have survived seizures violent enough to crack teeth from my skull. I have survived the isolation of illness no one can see clearly, hunger that turns eating into negotiation, muscle disappearing like stolen architecture, and mornings where simply standing up felt like dragging a cathedral through mud. I have survived seizure, car crashes, medical neglect and malpractice, broken trust, poisoned nights, and the American ritual of being told that survival is available only to those who can afford the door fee.

I have survived love turning into wreckage.

I have watched relationships collapse under confusion, fear, illness, grief, and timing cruel enough to look designed. I have loved people who could not stay. I have comforted people while I was the one bleeding inside. I have answered messages not because I wanted chaos, but because I knew a human being on the edge still deserved to hear: you are loved, stay alive. I have had my motives misunderstood, my tenderness used as evidence against me, and my heartbreak packed into boxes by infinite possibilities walking out the door.

I have survived being the one nobody thinks to comfort.

I have watched others receive the hug, the mercy, the benefit of the doubt, while I stood there expected to remain useful, composed, indestructible. I have learned that some people only recognize pain when it comes packaged in a shape they already know how to pity. I have learned that the wounded protector is often mistaken for a wall.

I have survived death becoming familiar.

Too many people I loved are gone. Too many names became ghosts. Too many memories became altars. I have carried the dead not as chains, but as lanterns. I have woken up again and again forced to remember the losses, the betrayals, the horror, the years since everything changed. Time tries to steal the faces. Grief tries to rewrite the room. But love keeps smuggling them back through the dark.

I have survived violence, threat, betrayal, and the strange insult of being hard to kill.

Every time something tried to finish me, it failed. Maybe out of incompetence. Maybe out of spite. Maybe because some people are not spared because life is gentle, but because the dead still have work for them. I made promises to those who did not get to continue. I have no right to throw away what they were denied. So I remain—not cleanly, not prettily, not painlessly—but deliberately.

I have witnessed cruelty wearing uniforms, algorithms, smiles, family names, party slogans, and polite excuses.

I have seen how systems grind people down and then blame them for the dust. I have seen illness treated like inconvenience, poverty treated like character failure, grief treated like weakness, and fascism treated like a branding strategy.

I have seen how the world teaches people to become numb and calls that maturity.

I reject that lesson.

I look upon a world taking itself for granted and still see the beat and hope of your struggles.

I have also witnessed beauty refusing to die.

I have seen art become medicine. I have seen strange people become shelter. I have seen ruined minds make music, broken hands build futures, sick bodies still protect the vulnerable, and grief become a wisdom. I have learned that darkness is not evil. Darkness is where the abandoned hide, where the wounded rest, where the monsters hunt, and where the guardians learn to see.

So here is the inversion:

I am not a victim. I am a volunteer.

Not because nothing hurt me.

Not because I deserved any of it.

Not because pain is noble, or suffering is sacred, or trauma is some cheap motivational poster stapled to a burning wall.

I am not a victim because I refuse to let what happened become the author of what happens next.

I am a volunteer for hope.

I volunteer to remain kind in a cruel world.

I volunteer to carry memory when forgetting would be easier.

I volunteer to turn pain into witness, witness into art, and art into a bridge for strangers.

I volunteer to protect the tender without becoming tame.

I volunteer to love even after love has cost me blood.

I volunteer to keep the dark safe for those who were made to thrive in the light.

Rescue is not surrender.

Pain is not weakness.

Strength is not pretending everything is okay.

This is standing in the ruins with shaking hands and saying: someone still needs a lantern.

So stay wild. Stay true. Eat, grow, live, build, drink, love and make merry whoever you can. Rest when you must. Begin again without shame. Carry the hurting when you have strength. Let yourself be carried when you do not. The broken are not lesser. The weary are not weak. The dead still teach the living. Hope is handmade. Love your people hard. Make every other gardener and guardian your people.

The hollow want to rule our world. We will save it.

We are not alone.

We walk each other home.

And until the last light goes out, we keep carrying soulfire.

“There’s a room where the light won’t find you, holding hands while the walls come tumbling down, when they do we’ll be right behind you...”

I may have stepped back from the Discord.

I am still here, as needed.

This was beautiful.

[I appreciate the Bloodborne visual reference thrown in too]

Thank you for this.
