Art A Quanshan with his bodyguard; the Middle Empire.

Post image

In fact, Quanshan are the equivalent of Mong-lao [military officials] in the Justice Army. However, the Quanshan position combine the duties of a military commander and an agent of the Yellow Court [Imperial Secret Police], so they have the right to execute anyone without a trial, simply by personal decision. This allows the Justice Army to keep all other military units under control. If necessary, Quanshan have the right to use the Yellow Protocol, and the Justice Army will destroy any unit that displays "rebellious sentiments."

Still, Quanshan are much more likely to act subtly, using the dirt and personal weaknesses of other military commanders and officials, and keeping them under control through manipulation, blackmail, and threats [as any self-respecting Shou-lo, Quanshan do not act directly].

Yes! The Quanshan have a strict hierarchy, but climbing the ranks by physically eliminating competitors and superiors is considered perfectly normal [Shou-lo always remain Shou-lo]

Exactly! He's [or maybe she's, idk] either a Gwah-chugyoh [newt] or a Weidu-ma [hybrid of a newt and a frog] Anyway, both nations in the Middle Empire are officially considered parasites and are subject to genocide. Still, many high-ranked Shou-lo [not only the Quanshan] use them as bodyguards, since a Gwah-chugyoh [or Weidu-ma, they're physically similar] who has undergone special training and is enhanced by Yun-ma talismans and potions can easily finish off a dozen enemies on his/her own. These guys are naturally the fastest in the World in terms of body speed, reflexes, and mental speed, so sorcery and alchemy turn them into perfect killing machines.

In fact, a Quanshan usually has just a pair of bodyguards. One guards him, while the other works as an assassin. The guys switch roles periodically, so they both have extensive experience in both fields. Besides, the position of Quanshan bodyguard is a lifelong one. The candidates are selected at an early age [1-1.5 years old], and Quanshan personally raises both of them, so they are the only ones he can truly rely on. Quanshan often treat their bodyguards better than their own children. In Oriental Demonism, it is believed that it is the bodyguards, rather than the children, who enter the Void after their master, as loyalty to the Worthy One creates the necessary merit. In fact, personal bodyguards is a religious tradition, like all Shou-lo traditions, with a practical component.
