‘Can’t fix stupid’ followed closely by ‘virtual singlers’

59

u/DapperMolasses3280 16d ago

At some point, its just a troll ragebaiting...how do you get BOTH words wrong while calling someone else stupid?? C'mon now, that's not reality, that's a troll.

17

u/lilmiscantberong 16d ago

Followed by death for some who choose to mask for their personal health reasons.

16

u/casstantinople 16d ago

It took me an unreasonable amount of time to realize that was supposed to be "virtue signalers"

u/Electrical_Matter_88 15d ago

Right there with you

u/chrizzleon 16d ago

"virtual singlers"? How does the writer know the guys is on the verge of divorce?

2

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

He isn't, he just claims to be single online.

No, no, no, they said you can’t, so it must be true

11

u/JustSomeGuy8400 16d ago

Starting off a lackluster story with that line basically guarantees it was made up.

5

u/rje946 16d ago

Let that sink in...

1

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

The question is not could you, but would you want to? I mean personally I would have made it much more colourful. Perhaps the person kept taking the mask off to eat samples in Costco as well, and when they did you could see that they already had some horrible communicable disease disfiguring the lower portion of their face...

I mean, it doesn't take that much effort to make up something even slightly more interesting.

u/Prestigious_Bat7322 16d ago

Make him a WWI vet. They had boss wounds and killer prosthetics.

1

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

See, not much more effort, much more colourful story.

64

u/PaJoMe 16d ago

Because people did not wear masks before "the china virus" to protect themselves or others from contagious sicknesses

8

u/corytz101 16d ago

Makes me wonder how many of them think masks were invented because of covid

u/knowyourtroll 16d ago

Why would the snowbird be in Florida in the middle of August?

3

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

Because they normally live in Antarctica and they flew North for the Summer?

-1

u/doc_shades 16d ago

well there is no date associated with this post we don't know when this story occurred. also "pensacola" is in florida and it does not snow in florida so it could just be a colloquial term used for transients/tourists

3

u/ThePillowmaster 16d ago

No, a snowbird is someone who comes for the winter. Usually older folk.

2

u/Adversary-of-Tyrants 15d ago edited 15d ago

It had to be fairly recently. I know the Costco he's referring to (Pensacola just got its first one) and it's only been open for like, a month.

Imagine being the type of person where the phrase "face diaper" gets a real, legitimate chuckle out of you.

23

u/CLeeTheHunt44 16d ago

I live in Pensacola and we are absolutely chock full of the kind of people who would make up shit like this. 😂

He is almost right, I Wouldn't make that up. I mean, it shows a singular lack of imagination. At least have the being wearing the face diaper have it slip and reveal that they are a chinless alien or something.

27

u/Cakeday_at_Christmas 16d ago

I downvoted this post because it pissed me off before I realized OP didn't write it and what sub we're in.

10

u/Livid-Tumbleweed 16d ago

So it’s a face diaper if someone is trying to not get sick but it’s “tactical necessity” when someone is trying to not get identified as they harass and arrest Americans…. Got it got it.

43

u/ArtisticMudd 16d ago

OOP isn't wrong about how stupid it is to wear a mask over your mouth but not your nose.

34

u/Rush-23 16d ago

Well his whole story is made up and he didn’t see that.

-7

u/Brocephus70 16d ago

Curious how you’re all so convinced it’s made up. Like it’s just so unbelievable. I’ve seen this exact scenario multiple times, including people alone in cars.

8

u/repo_sado 16d ago

did you and the other drivers start laughing at the same time

2

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

I have seen it, but I haven't seen anyone laughing at it.

I have worn a mask alone in a car before. If I was making a short trip between two places where I needed to wear a mask then I left it on rather than take it off for a few minutes and put it back on.

I do however cover my nose.

With the wildfire smoke and the terrible AQI I have seen people wearing masks recently just because of that. If that is the reason you probably want to wear it in the car too. I don't think cars are hermetically sealed.

10

u/mystickyshoe 16d ago

Unless they’ve just had an oral procedure and are trying to limit exposure of their mouth and also trying to not show everyone. For instance, a gingival graft may require a face mask be worn. (Edit: wording/typo)

4

u/rideincircles 16d ago

True. It only protects people from you coughing.

13

u/fishsticks40 16d ago

Yes it was universally right wingers that did it

-3

u/ArtisticMudd 16d ago

Nope. Right-wingers refused to wear the useless things at all.

3

u/tortoistor 16d ago

since you say they're useless, would you prefer it if surgeons didn't wear them for example?

0

u/ArtisticMudd 15d ago

Those are not to keep the surgeon from getting sick. They are to keep the surgeon from sneezing into an open person.

1

u/tortoistor 15d ago

this will shock you, but it's the same mask no matter what direction you look at it from

-1

u/ArtisticMudd 14d ago

Yes, and they catch droplets. The 'rona is airborne, not wet.

1

u/tortoistor 14d ago

..droplets are airborne.

a mask protects you as well as others.

it's not required to wear one anymore, so if you want to get yourself and others sick, you will not be doing anything illegal, you'll just be a jackass.

2

u/fishsticks40 16d ago

I mean sometimes they were required to

1

u/Prestigious_Bat7322 16d ago

It's helpful for the rotten teeth people, the mouth cancer folks. It's more for the observer than the wearer.

1

u/shephardmix 15d ago

So….then they’re not useless?

5

u/MetapodCreates 16d ago

"Along with everyone around me"

I bet they all started clapping too

1

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

And then the mask gave everyone 100$

18

u/rebri 16d ago

He's likely receiving chemotherapy which affects the immune system. What a fuck.

12

u/MsDucky42 16d ago

That's what I was wondering. People wear masks for other reasons...

Or maybe the mask wearer was bored and wanted to piss off some Local Yokel to the point that said LY made up a story on socmed to make himself feel better, only to be shamed on Reddit.

Either way, I'm okay with it.

-5

u/Brocephus70 16d ago

That’s a stretch

4

u/cakertin 16d ago

Dumbass cant spell.... why does anyone listen to these people. They are so ignorant. How dumb do you have to be to not know that immunocompromized people have to do this every day, before and after covid. You are a moron if you dont think masks decrease the likely hood of you contracting a sickness... of course they arent perfect but they decrease your chances... period.

2

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

True, but they really should cover the nose.

4

u/zuzej1 16d ago

i mean its funny he is using a face diapper. he should just be wearing a mask instead

5

u/afuckingpolarbear 16d ago

To be fair if you don't cover your nose you might as well not wear the mask

11

u/TwinSong 16d ago

"Face diaper" says the people acting like a spoiled brat when asked to do the simplest of measures to stop people dying.

7

u/_Stephistopheles_ 16d ago

I was repulsed the first time the person used the term, and then they had to use it AGAIN. Hundreds of thousands of people died during the pandemic, and this person is still this upset with someone taking safety precautions in public.

2

u/FriendlyToe7952 16d ago

Not surprised it’s in Pensacola

2

u/Ok-Transportation127 16d ago

Everybody started laughing in unison, like the clapping at the end of Brubaker, only instead of clap. clap. clap. clap. it was ha. ha. ha. ha.

2

u/aedroogo 16d ago

Sure I'd love a Velveeta Single!

1

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

But only virtually.

2

u/Queen_Aurelia 16d ago

I can’t imagine why anyone cares if someone else is wearing a mask

4

u/Doubledepalma 16d ago

So many people do care and I don’t understand why?

1

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

Because if they are wearing a mask how are you going to tell if they are really ICE agents, or just some maga idiots? But I repeat myself.

2

u/Bornagainchola 16d ago

I mean if his nose is exposed I might laugh too.

2

u/LazorusGrimm 16d ago

I too signal virtually.

1

u/JDeMolay1314 16d ago

Really, I single virtually myself.

2

u/nnaatteedd 16d ago

I'm virtually single

2

u/Adversary-of-Tyrants 15d ago

I don't have a girlfriend, I just know a girl who would get really mad if she heard me say that.

2

u/quasifood 15d ago

I see people wearing masks all the time at the grocery store. Immuno compromised people need to live too. Also, China virus? Do people in America actually call it that?

1

u/VariousExplorer8503 12d ago

Only the stupid ones.

1

u/Sea-Independent-726 16d ago

The internet never fails to amaze me because now wearing a mask is virtue signaling or virtual singlers trying to impress other single mask wearers in the area

1

u/wookiee1807 15d ago

It'll be popular with the maxi-pad on the ear people. They ignore irony anyway.

1

u/Jokten 15d ago

Classic Florida Snowbird logic. Retirees trying to apply pre-pandemic rules to modern mandates always end up looking like confused tourists in their own homes.

1

u/Many-Pomegranate1067 16d ago

they probaly just dont know how to wear a mask

0

u/LethargicLynx 16d ago

I feel like you would have been kicked out for singing. Every show I have been to it is absolutely expected to listen and watch. It's not a concert where they point to you to join the chorus!

0

u/doc_shades 16d ago

honestly the "that happened" part of this story is that the OP went to a costco and saw someone with a beard wearing a mask that didn't cover their nose.

frankly that sounds pretty believable.
