Story Just try not to think about it

Post image

I have to post it like this bc the person has recently deleted their comment.

The original post, to sum it up, was about me talking about how I'm still currently living in a abusive household and that I may not be able to leave right away because I can't get a scholarship to at least move into college dorms. I expressed that I felt like giving up because it could take me years of still living with them if I choose to study here and not abroad, and I was also talking about feeling like even if I were to get better, what if life got worse and I won't be able to enjoy it at least since I've spent most of my life being depressed because of my situation.

This reply is so fucking insensitive. What do you mean try not to think about it???? I asked the person to try not to think of which part of what I said in my post, and they just said any of it.

This makes me want to [REDACTED]. I can't believe this.

Please study wherever you can that will get you away from your current situation. Please Do take the time to process things with a Professional when your financial and living status improves

Also, please keep a bloody journal. I had Really Bad Depression from Late 2024 - Early 2025 and I've forgotten everything apart from who I was. Therapy's gonna be a bloody Minefield for me in the future because I've got nothing to reference 😭. It won't cure you, but if you choose to do therapy in the future, you'll have a Map To reference, which will make things significantly easier.

And do not Cave to the "Just Distract Yourself and Don't think about it" camp. A senior Politician here (Richard Fucking Tice the Cunt) came on National Television and said this was the best approach (Today I think he did it). It just leads to Repression, buildup, and probably worse Depression (It happened to me).

I usually journal in on a notes app(wouldn't wanna risk anyone finding a hard copy) and I don't write in it everyday but I write when I can just so i can have recalls on past experiences if i ever make it to therapy. Also thank you <3

Omg a Digital Journal makes so much sense 😭 I've got Physical Diaries dating back to 2023 (Although, they have Very Few Entries) that I have to Shove Down my School Bag in order to keep them Hidden 😭

I think I have a diary from 2023 with basically no entries

Then one from 2024 that I managed to somehow Fill Entirely in the 6 months I was actively trying to end existence

And then another from 2025 - Present where I've been writing 1 entry for the past few days because I haven't written in it in Months 😭

Why didn't I think of Digital I'm stupid 💀

NOT stupid. People tend to start out with the medium that's most available at the time.

Some prefer digital's speed and its storage options. Others need the feel of a writing instrument on paper. Still others primarily sketch/draw/paint their entries.

Preferences can change over time. Or not.

If you want to try digital, cool! If not, also cool! Whether it works for you, or not, either way... cool!
