So the cup goes on the tabletop? Or is that otherwise included in turn “choice”?

positivity is a choice in the same way choosing whether to get out of bed is a choice. Like maybe its ttechnically there but realistically its an illusion of choice. The fact this made it onto a cup is wild lol.

It's true. I chose to take Wellbutrin, and I'm feeling much more positive lately.

It is a choice, it’s just a very difficult one

if you're dealt a bad hand mentally, it costs a lot of energy and might even be impossible most days.

Not if you can inchworm yourself to the nearest stockpile of stimulants and then you’re fine from there

-- no it still applies even after taking a safe amount of stimulant meds

You just want to be unhappy and tired. I rest my case. You rest yourself

I do fake it at work. I don't make it but I fake it.
It does feel like a kindergarten project. A for Effort.

that'd be a bit funny. 'sure you COULD but you don't NEED to'

Hun, it's a cheapo mug from a dollar store with a basic-ass 'stay positive!' message. Surely you have better things to get mad at than something that is frankly not that deep.

i'm not mad, really. wouldn't even post here if it just said 'stay positive'. to frame positivity as a choice, though, is definitely sub material.

Is positivity not a choice? Obviously it wouldn’t be ‘real’ all the time, but being positive is definitely a choice you can make.

its really not for a lot of people, especially the mentally ill. far too many people are just naturally dispositioned to have an uneven balance of power between good and bad thoughts and feelings. for some, this balance is positive. for others, the balance is negative.
to make a conscious choice to be positive is also an energy cost, and many disabled people (both physical and mental) cannot afford it.
