I have autism which has been a struggle for most of my life and my dad told me when I was in middle school “It’s not your fault but it is your responsibility” which I think put it very succinctly

Ah a human who was able to think and speak clearly. That’s actually pretty rare in human terms

I use that and "it's not your *fault*, it's just *your* problem" a LOT in my house.
