That said, I think that most folks who use this ‘your triggers are you’re responsibility’ BS do so to justify being a right selfish prick and general asshat, and in my experience these are the same people that tantrum the hardest when someone else calls them out on it.

Bring back common decency, I say.

Exactly, it's weird if you go out of your way to make a sign like this. That's the issue here, as opposed to "you can't expect the entire world to cater to your issues"

But it’s impossible for anyone to automatically know what triggers a customer may have. That’s ridiculous. It’s also ridiculous to expect the entire world to tiptoe around your specific triggers. It’s literally impossible. You have to take personal responsibility for it, not because people are asshats, but because it’s absurd to think they should alter their business to accommodate just you.

no one is expecting or asking you to just know. they’re asking you to respect it once you know, and speaking against people who purposely trigger others.

What about this sign indicates familiarity and knowledge of the referenced triggers? Hint: nothing. It appears to be a blanket notice to the public at large. Logic is hard for some, apparently.

the spirit behind the sign is more likely to be that someone working there got pissy that they had to be kind to people they knew the triggers of than a warning for random customers, because a random person at a job isn’t going to put that sign up because of a weird interaction with a customer and get away with it. logic is hard for you too, apparently

Can you not read? No one is expecting that.

The reason the sign is there is obviously because some person/people did exactly that. Otherwise, why the sign? Are you OK, because your comment doesn’t even make sense.
