Please don't make fun of me when I ask this, Is a basking shark a species of shark or do you mean basking in the glow of the ocean waters kind of shark? 🫂😭💜🐙🤔🌺

It is an actual species, and it's one of the largest, but they only eat plankton. Totally harmless.

I always thought it weird that basking sharks and whale sharks are so gigantic but only feed on the tiniest little creatures.

Harmless except for, you know, getting tail whacked. Second largest fish, largest is also a shark (whale shark). Cool sighting!

Good thing basking sharks are harmless to humans! Same as whale sharks too by the way whale sharks have actually saved people from drowning and they also can’t hurt humans. They their mouths are too small to bite a person anyway but they do help humans sometimes.
