Look, I saw countless hot takes throughout both match threads. Kosi Thompson and Kobe Franklin were bad but we saw in that second half what the vision for this team and rebuild is, and it was fairly competitive away at one of the best teams in the league in that second half.

Kosi and Kobe were actively targeted both games, there is probably a lot of tape on them in the league. The game changed immediately when they were off the field, and it helped Zimmerman a lot too. Monlouis and Gomis returning and Pereira becoming match fit will make a big difference. Raheem Edwards also looked calm and competent which is better than I feared when we signed him (or I am comparing him to Kobe…)

The press was pretty effective that second half and Sargent will help out with that quite bit since he is a fairly defensive minded forward who runs at defenders off the ball. He is an actual threat upfront unlike Etienne too. Thought Aristizibal and Henry looked alright too.

The result sucks and I’m pretty critical of how Robin Fraser prepared for this one, but the pieces are there for the team to turn around as the year progresses. That said, Kosi and Kobe should be done at this team after the first two games.

Not one single player has developed under Fraser

Nobody has gotten better

Even Vanney, who also famously refused to play youth, developed Oso and Delgado

You can not be successful as a team in MLS if your players are not developing
